**What’s up Wednesday** {4.26.2023}

It’s the  last Wednesday of the month. On this day, I link up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer. I am sharing what has been going on with us lately. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

Grab your coffee, tea, lemonade, or whatever you’re sipping on and settle in. 🙂

1. What We Are Eating This Week:

I feel like when this part of the year hits; it’s so hard to plan for what to cook, and we are so busy! So, this is what’s happening this week.

Sunday: We ate a big lunch at church, so we didn’t really eat any dinner. But here’s some of what I ate yesterday afternoon.

I cooked Hash brown casserole, Mac n’ Cheese, Baked Beans, Coconut Cake, and I brought chicken tenders. There were lots of other delicious goodies too!

Monday: Lasagna and Salad

Tuesday: Leftover sides, and I’m adding some BBQ pork as the main entree

Wednesday: Leftover Lasagna

Thursday: Leftover BBQ pork sandwiches with roasted veggies

Friday & Saturday: Kitchen’s closed!

2. What I’m Reminiscing About:

So many sweet memories popped up on my feed this month.

Look at all these sweet Easter memories.

Here’s a side by side of the girls at Easter 5 years ago, last year, and then here they are this year. Wow! We have really grown.

Look at these little sweeties when Adalynn turned 3. Addison was still 2, and we went to see Disney on Ice! This was in 2019.

This was two years ago when we went to the strawberry patch and another day went to Dollywood. Sweet memories.

I’m also reminiscing our  Spring Break trip last year to St. George Island, Florida. We had such a great time! Addison was still hobbling around from her broken leg, but she was a trooper!

This was her main mode of transportation. Ha!

3. What I’m Loving:

I ordered this new shampoo by Dae. I have only used it a couple times, but I’m loving it so far.  It has amazing reviews, and I love the smell.

4. What We’ve Been Up To:

Earlier this month, we went to the Outer Banks during Spring break. We had such a great time! I shared about our Part I of the trip here

We even got to see the house from Nights in Rodanthe. We were very excited about that!

Our girl was such a trooper after her adenoidectomy and ear tube surgery.

We had a great Easter with all the family!

The guys have been making great progress on our outdoor patio. I am loving it so far!

5. What I’m Dreading:

This last month of school is so super busy! I’m excited about it but also dreading it. 😉

6. What I’m Working On:

I’m working on this blog post as well as searching for some outdoor patio furniture.

I’ve also been preparing all the end of year things. It’s a crazy time right now.

Like this Better Homes and Garden style from Walmart. Thank you for Sarah for reminding me to check them out on Wayfair!

7. What I’m Excited About:

I am really excited about all the fun things we have planned the next few weeks and then moving into summer. They always say Christmas time is a busy time, but I feel like this time of year is just as busy. Signed a crazy teacher Mama.

8. What I’m Watching/Reading:

I have been watching the new season of Love is Blind. I’m to about Episode 7, and it’s good! The drama is so good! I have seen lots of memes going around bashing the hosts, Nick & Vanessa.

Joey and I finished Daisy Jones & the Six, and I was sad to see it end. I really did enjoy everything about this show.

I finished The Bodyguard earlier this month. It was super cute and very chick-lit. It had some suspense and a little bit of romance. If you’re looking for an easy, good feeling read, pick this one up!

This is what Amazon has to say:

She’s got his back.
Hannah Brooks looks more like a kindergarten teacher than somebody who could kill you with a wine bottle opener. Or a ballpoint pen. Or a dinner napkin. But the truth is, she’s an Executive Protection Agent (aka “bodyguard”), and she just got hired to protect superstar actor Jack Stapleton from his middle-aged, corgi-breeding stalker.

He’s got her heart.
Jack Stapleton’s a household name—captured by paparazzi on beaches the world over, famous for, among other things, rising out of the waves in all manner of clingy board shorts and glistening like a Roman deity. But a few years back, in the wake of a family tragedy, he dropped from the public eye and went off the grid.

They’ve got a secret.
When Jack’s mom gets sick, he goes home to the family’s Texas ranch to help out. Only one catch: He doesn’t want his family to know about his stalker. Or the bodyguard thing. And so Hannah—against her will
and her better judgment—finds herself pretending to be Jack’s girlfriend as a cover. Even though her ex, says no one will believe it.

What could possibly go wrong?
Hannah hardly believes it, herself. But the more time she spends with Jack, the more real it all starts to seem. And there lies the heartbreak. Because it’s easy for Hannah to protect Jack. But protecting her own, long-neglected heart? That’s the hardest thing she’s ever done.

The Bodyguard

I finally gave in and started reading Verity, by Colleen Hoover, on my Kindle Paper White. The beginning chapter definitely sucked me in, and I finished it last night. Throughout the book, I’m not going to lie, it gave me nightmares. And then, the end left me with so many more questions It’s really good, but it definitely has some dark parts, and I would definitely say it’s rated R. I know a lot of people love this book. It has over 270,000 reviews!! Let me know if you’ve read it and your thoughts!

I still love reading on my Kindle Paper White!

This is Amazon’s summary:

From the number-one New York Times best-selling and award-winning author Colleen Hoover comes “A stand-alone romantic thriller that is tragic, creepy, and brilliant!” (Mel Reader Reviews

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of best-selling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.

Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read. Page after page of bone-chilling admissions, including Verity’s recollection of the night their family was forever altered.

Lowen decides to keep the manuscript hidden from Jeremy, knowing its contents would devastate the already grieving father. But as Lowen’s feelings for Jeremy begin to intensify, she recognizes all the ways she could benefit if he were to read his wife’s words. After all, no matter how devoted Jeremy is to his injured wife, a truth this horrifying would make it impossible for him to continue to love her.

Sexy. Twisted. Consuming.

9. What I’m Listening To:

Right now I’m listening to some podcasts. Typically I’ve been listening to “The Southern Tea”, “Coffee Convos”, “The Bestie Breakdown” and “Cat & Nat Unfiltered”.

10. What I’m Wearing:

I am still wearing this coral top I ordered, from Amazon. I love the style with the ruffles along the side and the ruffled pocket. It can be worn casual or dressy. It will be perfect with shorts in the summer. I would order your normal size. And, right now, there’s a coupon to clip!

I have it paired with my Democracy bootcut pants which are on sale right now! They have my favorite stretch “Absolution” technology! These are a definite favorite, especially to wear in the Spring!

The shirt above would look so cute with these Caslon Boyfriend shorts. I personally have these, and they’re so comfortable. They are also on sale right now at 50% off!

11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:

We have a soccer game this weekend. I’m not really sure what else we have going on. The weather is supposed to be cooler and rainy, so I don’t know what we will get into.

12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:

Next month, I’m super excited about all the end of year events including Addison’s Mother’s Day Tea at her school. It’s always so sweet! This will be her last one, so I’m probably going to be really weepy.

13. Favorite Amazon Find:

How nifty are these sunscreen rollers. I was influenced. All you do is fill it up with liquid sunscreen, and it easily rolls right on with a foam roller. These are going to be awesome for the upcoming summer!

And these Tinkle razors are always a must for that stubborn, annoying peach fuzz. These are so easy to use and allow makeup to go on smoother. Grab them now! Trust me!

14. What Else Is New:

That pretty much sums it up.

Thank you all for reading. I hope you have an awesome day!! See you back here on Friday!
