**Saint Lucia Vacay Recap Part II** {10.20.2022}
Hey guys! I’m coming to you on a Thursday! This is not usual for me! Ha!
I wanted to go ahead and get my vacation recap done though, so I’m pushing through. If you missed my Part I, check it out here!
We got up Tuesday morning and headed to Pigeon Island National Park to hike. The great thing about it, it was right next door to the resort, so we could easily get there by just walking. We felt safe, and we only had to pay $10 to enter.
There was a lot of history here. It was mostly shady, which was nice, until you started climbing up. Then it was hot! The sun was beating down, and being that close to the equator, it burns.
Going up into the fort, there was a nice path. However, you did have to climb a ladder to actually get on the top, and I will tell you right now, I’m not a fan of heights. I don’t go onto tall rides and keep my eyes open.
Side note, even when we were building our house, Joey was on the roof and would request me to hand him something. Even climbing up the ladder like 3-4 rungs would make me want to vomit. Haha!
There was another nice couple up there while we were, and they were so kind to take our pictures. We took theirs too! 😉
Beautiful views of the resort and a boat way down there doing a snorkeling excursion.
Up to the other overlook, the path was not as maintained. Me being me, I was a nervous wreck. And it was oh so hot! But once we got up there, the views were gorgeous!
And then we made our way back down and back to the resort to cool off and rest.
We got back, changed clothes and Joey made a pit stop for a chocolate crepe.
My spot for the rest of the day.
That night we had reservations for Kimonos. Only three restaurants required reservations, and this night was one of ours. The atmosphere was very tranquil and beautiful. It was very fun to sit at the hibachi table with other couples and chat about where they’re from and what they’re celebrating.
This was one of our favorite meals!
On our last day, I wanted to soak in as much sunshine and beach time as possible. The weather started off nice.
And then, being in the rainforest, here comes the rain. The nice thing about it though, most of the time it poured down rain and would end within like 10 minutes.
For our last night, we had reservations at Gordons which was more of the fine dining restaurant.
The restaurant was out on the pier, and we had a nice view back at the resort.
I had the crab cake as an appetizer, and apparently, I didn’t snap a picture of my entree. I had the filet with mashed potatoes, and it was delicious!
Thursday morning, we were up and packed. Our luggage had to be ready to be picked up by 9 am. We ended up deciding to take the helicopter back to the resort vs riding the shuttle bus back. This way, we could hang out at the resort longer.
The helicopter ride is only about 20 minutes where as the shuttle is about 1 1/2-2 hours depending on traffic.
We had a private car take us to the smaller airport to grab the helicopter.
Then it was our turn!
We sat in the front with the pilot. I was excited but also a little nervous. Eeek!
The island was beautiful, and I loved seeing it from above.
We requested the scenic view back, so the pilot took us by the Great Pitons, which are famous on St. Lucia. (They’re in most of the pictures)
A lot of people hike those mountains… not me! Nope.
And he showed us the dormant volcano which is a little scary because that fishing village is right below it.
We left St. Lucia around 3:45 and arrived back in Atlanta around 8. We had a phenomenal trip, and it was so good to get away and just relax.
That’s all and I will see ya’ll back tomorrow!
