**What’s Up Wednesday** {3.31.2021}

It’s the last Wednesday of the month. On this day, I link up with the blogs Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer. I share a little bit of everything that’s been going on with us lately.

Here we are already at the end of March… before we know it, the school year will be over and summer will be here.

1. What We Are Eating This Week:

Sunday: Cornish Hens, Rice, Peas & Snaps, Squash

Monday: Chicken Noodle Cheese Casserole, Burnt Broccoli, Air Fryer Zucchini

Tuesday: Hamburger’s, Sweet Potato Fries

Wednesday: Leftover Casserole

Thursday: Jambalaya

Friday: Leftover Hamburger’s

Saturday: Preparing for Easter

2. What I’m Reminiscing About:

This memory popped up from 6 years ago when my best friend, Caroline, got hitched. It was a very fun event with so many laughs.

This was 2 years ago… We sure are lucky.

This memory popped up from 3 years ago… She’s changed so much.

3. What I’m Loving:

I’m loving this weather and the extra daylight in the evenings.

4. What We’ve Been Up To:

We have been doing work around the house, especially outside.

Here’s a couple shots of the playroom. Still a work in progress. I’m looking for a light fixture, and we are in the process of ordering flooring.

Shiplap Peel & Stick Wallpaper

5. What I’m Dreading:

I’m not really dreading anything right now. 😉

6. What I’m Working On:

I’m working on this blog post as well as some school work. I can’t believe how quick the end of year is coming. We were just discussing all of our end of year testing and events for the calendar. It’s crazy how the weeks will really fly by after Spring Break.

I am also busy planning our upcoming trips.

I’ve also been preparing for Addison’s Easter Basket… If you missed some ideas, check them out here

I found this Look & Find set. Addison is obsessed with these. So, I’m going to add these in her basket too. 😉

7. What I’m Excited About:

I am really excited about the weather continuing to get warmer. Goodbye cold weather… Hello sandals and short sleeves.

I’m also excited to see family this weekend for Easter! Some of them we haven’t seen in over a year, so it will be so great to see everyone! 🙂

8. What I’m Watching/Reading:

I’m slowly making my way through Good Girls on Netflix. I’m just on Season 2, so I’ve still got a ways to go, but I love watching it while I get ready in the mornings.

We just finished Country Comfort on Netflix. It was great! We all watched it as a family. I loved that the episodes were short, and it was perfectly suitable for Addison to watch with us. I would highly recommend it for a family show. Sadly, it’s only 1 season, and 10 episodes. Hopefully it will be back!

We have been reading all the Easter books around here, like the classic, The Tale of Peter Rabbit

When I have time, I’m still reading Kristin Hannah’s newest novel, “The Four Winds“. I’m about 380 pages in, so I don’t have many more to go. I just need to push through and finish. Anyone else read it?

I have a lot more books on my Kindle and on my To-Read list… if you have any Must-haves please share them. I would love to add some newbies to my Kindle to read on Spring Break. 😉

9. What I’m Listening To:

More Disney music…. All the Time…

10. What I’m Wearing:

These new Wit & Wisdom Girlfriend jeans are awesome, if you’re looking for something to break up your skinny jean days. They are very soft and comfortable.

Tory Burch Miller Sandals

Don’t get me wrong, I still love my skinny jeans and side part…. and this is how I feel about it. Hahaha!

I ordered some new Maxi dresses from Betsey’s Boutique. I wore one of them to church on Sunday, but of course, I forgot to grab a picture. #bloggerfail

I’ll be sure to share them soon. 🙂

**********************************************

There are also some great sales this week!

Old Navy is having up to 60% off site wide!! Grab some things at awesome prices!

Nordstrom is having a Spring Sale right now! Up to 50% off over 22,000 items!

My favorite sunscreen is on sale right now! I’m planning to stock up!

11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:

We have Easter with Joey’s Mom on Saturday. We are doing a lunch.

On Sunday, we are busier. We have Easter with his Granny and family at 1:30. My Papa’s is at the same time. 🙁

We are hoping to stay for about an hour at his Granny’s then hopefully make it to my Papa’s by the egg hunt. It’s always so hard when we have so many places to go.

12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:

Next month is Spring Break and a fun, little trip. We also have a lot of birthday’s to celebrate next month… my Mom, Dad, nieces Adalynn and Emily. So much excitement!

13. What Else is New:

This is how I feel right now, at this point in the year. Ha!

Also this…

Thank you all for reading. I am so thankful for all of you! I hope you have an awesome day!! See you back here on Friday!

xoxo

Ha! I forgot about Good Girls! I watched that awhile ago and thought it was a fun show. How are you liking Four WInds? Of all the books I read in March, that one was my favorite. Have a great day!

Four Winds is hard for me. I’m not really sure why either because she’s one of my favorite authors. I’ve only got 40 more pages, so I’m almost done, but for me, I feel like it’s not piquing my interest as much as her other books. 🙂

We have spring break too! I totally feel you about the end of the school year. I am so ready for it to be over ha! Oh! Your menu sounds amazing! I love cornish hens and sweet potato fries are my fave!

Oh my goodness I feel that teacher/Titanic meme in my soul! I’ll have to add Good Girls to my watch list. I’ve been trying to figure out what to watch next & haven’t been able to decide so somehow I wound up on Letterkenny on Hulu & I don’t even love it but I keep watching it.

Haha! I do that all the time with shows, I feel like I’m invested but don’t really have to be. I know, I’m crazy. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week! 😉

I need the recipe for the chicken noodle casserole. And please tell me what is burnt broccoli? Hope you guys have a great weekend!

    • alisonhughes

Ha! They are so easy! I will plan to do a blogpost on them in the next week or so. Burnt broccoli is literally just broccoli baked at such a high temperature that it burns. I love it!

I too am curious about “burnt broccoli.” And I can’t decided if I want to read The Four Winds or not — I keep hearing such mixed reviews…

And, I’m right there with you on Four Winds. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t my favorite book by her, unfortunately. But some people love it! So, I guess you could form your own opinion. 😉
