**Hello Monday** {8.9.2021}
Happy Monday everybody! How was your weekend? We had lots of fun and got to get out and enjoy a lot of outside time.
We started off Friday with a trip to Chick-fil-A. We hadn’t eaten inside one in a long time.
We were supposed to bring drinks to soccer this week. I went to three grocery stores on the search. None to be found. What in the world, ya’ll? No juice boxes/pouches in sight!
We were up early Saturday morning for soccer. We realized we wore the wrong color, but thankfully they’re reversible. 😉
We had a nice date night, Saturday night. We ended up at Superica at the Avalon. It was very good! The homemade tortillas were delicious! It was great to hang out and catch up with my favorite guy without having to wrestle a four year old. Ha! 😉
While we were off having fun, Addison was having a blast with Nonna and Papaw.
We picked Addison up pretty early yesterday morning and headed north toward the mountains. We made a stop to pick up some peaches.
The mountain views were beautiful on our drive.
We made our way to Fort Mountain State Park.
First thing, we went to the lake to have a lake side picnic.
After our snack, we headed out on the Blue Diamond trail which went around the lake. It was only about a mile and a half, and I knew where we would end up. That’s my kind of hike. I don’t like not knowing where the endpoint is.
Joey has nightmare flashbacks of a time we went hiking, and we didn’t know where we were going, or at least I didn’t. We were far into the walk, and I felt like we were lost. Then, it started raining. I was not a happy hiker. I get major anxiety thinking about it. Haha!
We came upon these pretty butterflies.
After the Blue Diamond trail, we drove over to the trail that takes you to the stone wall, the “Fort”, and the fire tower. These stone steps were no joke. Thankfully, the weather wasn’t too hot or humid.
Here’s the stone wall.
Then, we made it to the tower.
We headed back down the mountain, and headed toward home. We had to get ready for another week back at school and work. I hope you all had the best weekend! Remember to always take a map with you or know where you’re going when you’re hiking in the woods. 😉

My favorite hikes are with loop trails so I can somewhat “know” where we’ll end up. Though anytime I try out a new trail I try to make sure I have a map I can follow just so I don’t get lost at all. I can not get over that juice box asile! That’s crazy.
