**Let’s Look at…….My Faves from High School & College** {3.16.2022}

Happy Wednesday Everybody!! Today, I have a fun little linkup. I’m linking up with Shay from MixandMatchMama and Erika from ALittleBitofEverything and talking about some favorites from High School & College as well as some other fun tidbits. 😉

This was my High School. Cherokee High. We were the Warriors. My Mom even went to this high school. This was what the building looked like when I started. During my time there, they built a new gym, so the second picture is of it. I actually graduated in the new gym the year it opened. That was in 2003. I graduated with about 300 something students.

I had many crazy, fun times during high school. I remember school dances, field trips, and sporting events the most. All the social things of course. Ha!

I played soccer for CHS for 3 years and decided to take my senior year off.

My friends and I loved cruising through town… blasting music with the windows down, meeting up in parking lots just to hang out and having the best times. Those were some great days before gas prices became outrageous.

My favorite places to shop were Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, and American Eagle. I can just remember how dark and loud it was walking into Hollister & Abercrombie, and my Mom would get some annoyed. She was like, they just make you grab things fast, so you can get out quickly. Ha!

This was my best friend, Elizabeth. We actually went to elementary school together too, so we had been best friends forever. She, tragically, got killed in a car accident our sophomore year of college. I sure did love that girl! We had so many adventures together and even went on vacations together every summer.

Some of my favorite things in high school…..

I remember the cool thing was this Polo Sport bag. I carried my books in it. Was it practical? No. It didn’t hold hardly anything. But, it was THE THING, so I carried it.

Timberland’s were very popular during my high school years. I remember I had them in black and brown. I even had to get a few new ones during my duration through high school because I wore them so much.

Steve Madden slides… which I have seen are actually still sold online in certain stores. I can’t tell you how many times I twisted my ankle wearing these crazy things, but I definitely still wore them anyway.

And my Nokia Cell phone. This was a big deal when I got this phone. Phones were very new during my high school days, and I loved playing snake. The only reason I had a phone was because I was driving to and from school at this point.

So, now I will move into my College years. I went to North Georgia College & State University. I changed majors while going through. I ended up getting my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood/Special Education.

(Extra Tidbit: I also have my Master’s through Piedmont University and my Specialist’s Degree through Lincoln Memorial University)

I had lots of awesome times with some great friends throughout my college years.

I had a yellow mustang, and one day I came out into the parking lot to find post-it notes stuck all over it. Hilarious!

I remember the hair pouf in the front was very popular during my college years. I remember wearing it like this often.

I can’t remember a lot of favorite things during my college years. But one major thing that comes to mind is my Pink Razr phone. I remember that was a big deal for me during those years. And, I remember it was very fragile. I dropped it and cracked it all the time. #sigh

I do also remember the Sperry Boat Shoes being very popular while I was in college. All my friends had them.

And, that’s it for today. What a fun topic! I can’t wait to read all of yours! Here are the rest of the topics for the year, and next month is How you Do/Plan Date Night.

January: How I Organize for the New Year

My master’s degree is in Early Childhood/speical ed! It was easier and faster in our state to get an undergrad degree in child psychology and then add on the eductaion component after rather than essentially carry a double major to graduation. So sorry to read about your friend. I too lost a close friend while in college; her and a large group of my friends were hit head on by a drunk driver.
