Let's Look At...

**Let’s Look At….Things we’ve said No to Recently** {10.8.2025}

Hello!! Happy Wednesday!!

On the second Wednesday of every month, I link up with Shay from MixandMatchMama and Erika from ALittleBitofEverything. Today, we are talking about things I’ve said NO to recently.

Today’s topic is a hard one… I am pretty go with the flow unless it’s something I don’t agree with.

Most of the time, Addison already knows if I’ll say “yes” or “no”, so she knows not to even ask.

  • SWEETS: Things I say “no” to a lot is sugary sweets. Of course I’ll give in and say yes every so often, but I don’t want her to have a ton of sweets. It’s just not good for anyone.
  • SPENDING THE NIGHT: Often we are very busy on the weekends, running everywhere, and so I often say “no” to spend the night parties just because we are very busy. I try to allow it at least once every few months because I remember loving sleepovers growing up. I’m also very particular whose house I allow Addison to go to. I need to know the parent pretty well.
  • SERVICE LEAGUE: The service league ladies work extremely hard throughout the year, raising money and doing amazing events and fundraisers for the children in our county. They’ve asked me to be on it, but I just feel like right now, I don’t have time. I need to take care of myself and not be so stressed all the time. So, I said “no”.
  • COFFEE SHOP COFFEE: So, as much as I would love to have a Starbucks or other coffee shop drink, I often tell myself no. It can be a treat. I have things at home to make coffee just fine.
  •  BRING ME JOY: If it does not bring me joy, I’m going to probably say “no”. I don’t have time for negativity or anything dragging me down.
  • SLEEP: Most of my people know I function best with enough sleep, so if it’s after 9:30, I am probably on Do Not Disturb.
  • OVERCOMMITMENT: I have to be mindful about not cramming everything in. I just don’t do it well if I do, and I never want that. So, I try to say “no” when I can.
  • DOCTORATE: I have been contemplating going back to get my PhD, but right now I’m saying no… it could change though.
