**What’s up Wednesday** {1.29.2025}
It’s the last Wednesday of the month. I am linking up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer and sharing what has been going on with us lately. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
1. What We Are Eating This Week:
Sunday: Out to Eat: Cracker Barrel
Monday: Chicken Tortilla Soup
Tuesday: Chicken Pot Pie
Wednesday: Leftover Chicken Tortilla Soup
Thursday: Ham, Northern Beans, Collard Greens, Potatoes
Friday: Out to eat with Joey’s Mom
Saturday: Kitchen’s closed!
2. What I’m Reminiscing About:
I miss these early years.
This was in 2021 on the 100th day of school.
And here is 2022. She celebrated Donuts with Dads, one very brief snow day and Shannon and I saw Reba!
Here we are in 2023.
We walked up and down approximately 5,000 steps at Tallulah gorge. I don’t remember exactly the number but it was a killer!
Addison stayed active by running a 5k and playing b-ball.
We celebrated Joey turning 40 with a little getaway trip to the mountains.
This was last year which was really all about Milo.
3. What I’m Loving:
I wanted some new dining chairs, and I ordered these, and I am really loving them! They are very sturdy and this link includes 2. I think it’s a great price!
4. What We’ve Been Up To:
We started off the month ringing in the new year!
We had a snow day. Even though the meteorologists were a little wrong about how much we would actually get. We still had fun!
We had some friends time. Eating out together….
and going ice skating.
We loved celebrating Joey’s birthday!
Addison had a fun, friend’s sleepover!
And, we had more birthday fun planning and celebrating Shannon turning 40!
5. What I’m Dreading:
I’m not really dreading anything right now. 😉
All I know is, if it’s not going to snow, I want the weather to heat up!
6. What I’m Working On:
All the things… testing is still going on at school right now, we are also in the midst of looking at lots of Winter data and determining next steps.
I am also trying to plan lots of fun trips!
7. What I’m Excited About:
I am really excited about all the fun things we have planned.
8. What I’m Watching/Reading:
Earlier this month, I finished A Winter Wish, and it was adorable! It starts at Christmastime and then ventures into the new year. So, I would say, you can read it now even after Christmas. The characters are very likeable, and I like the storyline. Be sure to check it out for a little chick-lit.
Here’s what Amazon has to say:
When an unexpected inheritance forces two total opposites to work together, Lexie must decide if Theo is going to push her out—or pull her in for the kiss of a lifetime—in this heartwarming holiday novel from the author of Always, in December and One Last Gift
When Lexie learns of her father’s death, she doesn’t know how to feel; they’ve barely spoken in the last ten years. And she’s even more confused when she discovers he’s left her half of his holiday travel company, a successful niche business specializing in trips that explore the holiday traditions of cultures all over the world.
Meanwhile, the other half of the company has been left to her father’s handsome but bad-tempered young executive, Theo. And the will stipulates that the two of them must find a way to run the company together for a year before they decide its fate.
Lexie intends to leave once the year is over, even though, as a wanderer herself, she finds the company’s mission more compelling than she first thought. And a work trip to sizzling Spain reveals a chemistry between Lexie and Theo that is impossible to deny.
There may have been some snap judgments made about each other. But mixing business and pleasure isn’t always a good idea.
I just finished The Teacher, and it was good! It had a lot of twists and turns. The end was really surprising!
Here’s what Amazon had to say:
A mind-bending, psychological thriller from Freida McFadden, the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of The Housemaid!
Lesson #1: trust no one
Eve has a good life. She gets up each day, gets a kiss from her husband Nate, and heads off to teach math at the local high school. All is as it should be. Except…
Last year, Caseham High was rocked by a scandal involving a student-teacher affair, with one student, Addie, at its center. But Eve knows there is far more to these ugly rumors than meets the eye.
Addie can’t be trusted. She lies. She hurts people. She destroys lives. At least, that’s what everyone says.
But nobody knows the real Addie. Nobody knows the secrets that could destroy her. And Addie will do anything to keep it quiet.
I’ve been watching the new season of Southern Charm. It’s been good with lots of drama! I still love Craig! I can’t stand Paige, and I’m glad she and Craig split. I can’t stand JT! I also like Shep so much better than I used to.
Joey and I have been watching the comedian, Nate Bargatze. Have you watched it? We feel like it’s family friendly.
9. What I’m Listening To:
Addison is watching a home improvement show on TV. She’s like her Mama and enjoys HGTV.
10. What I’m Wearing:
I ordered this Navy Striped Turtleneck Sweater from Shop the Mint, and it is very soft and comfy. I got lots of comments when I wore it to school.
I also ordered this dress but haven’t gotten any pics with it on. But here is what it looks like. I think it’s super versatile and will good this spring.
I also ordered some dresses from Jules & James Boutique. They haven’t arrived yet.
11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:
I don’t really know what we have planned for the weekend. I need to do some majorly cleaning. My house has been neglected.
12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:
Our Winter Break and Valentine’s Day fun!
13. Favorite Amazon Find:
I just ordered some things from Amazon.
Now that I’m hitting 40 this year, and my hormones are changing, I’m trying to do some more self care.
I ordered this Michael Todd Sonicsmooth Dermaplaning tool. It had to charge for 12 hours before the first use. I have only used it one time, but my skin does feel smoother. It has great reviews!
I also ordered this Spearmint Essential Oil and Almond Carrier Oil. It’s supposed to minimize hair growth. The carrier oil came with a roller ball, so that was helpful.
14. What Else Is New:
If you made it this far, thank you! That is all!
Thank you all for reading. I hope you have an awesome day!! See you back here on Friday!
