Happy Twosday! 2.2.22. Since I missed the link up last week, I’m sharing a recap of our January today. On this post, I link up with the blogs Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer. I share what’s going on with us right now. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
1. What We Are Eating This Week:
With Joey on Keto and me eating on Noom, our meals look a little different. This is what I’m cooking for dinner, but some things I am eating, and some things he is eating.
Sunday: Air Fryer Chicken Wings, Air Fryer Zucchini, Air Fryer Russet Potato slices
Monday: Salad, Spaghetti with whole wheat pasta ( I never brown ground beef without this little gadget).
Tuesday: Jambalaya in the slow cooker with long grain brown rice
Wednesday: Leftover Spaghetti
Thursday: Leftover Jambalaya
Friday & Saturday: Kitchen’s closed!
2. What I’m Reminiscing About:
Look at this sweet one of Addison from 2017.
And, I remember these little piggie tails like they were yesterday. Can’t believe this was January 2018.
Here we are in January 2019. It was a little chilly on the beach.
Look at these sweet babies in 2019. Adalynn was actually taller than Addison then. Ha!
3. What I’m Loving:
Have any of you tried this foot mask? Amazing Reviews and perfect time to use it in the Winter!
I started using Colleen Rothschild products in November, and I officially love them! I’m a super fan and love telling people about the products!
I use this Radiant Cleansing Balm to take off my makeup. It’s so easy to use. You just get a small amount on your fingertips, and rub your hands until it heats up a little and becomes a silky consistency. Rub it all over your dry face and your makeup literally melts off. It comes with a Muslin cloth. You wet it, and your makeup just slides off. So easy and doesn’t irritate your skin or even your eyes. I am still using the same tub that I bought in November, so it’s lasted a long time.
This Extreme Recovery Cream is great for moisturizing my dry skin during the Winter. I use it right after the Cleansing Balm. It has Hyaluronic acid in it and is great for nourishing dehydrated skin.
I use the Face Oil No. 9 with my moisturizers, as needed. Straight from the website this Face Oil N°9 combines nine transformative oils that provide an intense moisture boost, deeply nourish thirsty skin, and leave your complexion radiant after the first application.
The active combination of precious oils and vitamins offer protection from oxidative stress that results in the appearance of spots and wrinkles. This formula also improves the skin’s moisture barrier for enhanced cellular function and hydration, leaving no greasy residue.
I typically use one drop at night with my Extreme Recovery Cream.
Then, sometimes, if my skin is feeling like I need some extra moisture, I put it on in the morning with the Sheer Renewal Cream.
The oil-free Sheer Renewal Cream provides continuous weightless hydration and promotes new cell turnover to help minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
I’ve got some sun spots and discoloration on my face from years in the sun in my late teens and 20’s. #sigh
I ordered this Vitamin C Treatment Complex to help combat those signs. It improves natural radiance and clarity while defending against environmental aggressors like pollution, stress, and sun damage.
This potent form of vitamin C helps reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation by penetrating the epidermis 16 times more effectively than ascorbic acid. The formulation stimulates collagen production, leaving skin more even and radiant.
I just ordered these Glycolic Acid Peel Pads, so they haven’t come in yet. I occasionally get breakouts, so I wanted something to get the dirt and also help with the discoloration on my skin. This is what the website says.
A daily spa-strength treatment formulated to help dissolve skin-clogging dirt, debris and sebum. Skin’s natural renewal process is enhanced with a 10 percent blend of Glycolic and Lactic Acids, targeting fine lines, hyperpigmentation and imperfections to reveal a fresher, brighter, more even complexion.
4. What We’ve Been Up To:
Addison has had lots of dress up days this month, at school.
Socks & Crocs day. Winter Hat Day
100th Day & Tie Dye Day
We celebrated our favorite guy’s birthday!
I went to the movies last month with the girls. I hadn’t been to the movies since Pre-Covid.
Addison had Donuts with Dad’s. Joey and Addison were both so excited!
We were able to sled one day with a little bit of snow last month.
And, we finally were able to go to the Reba concert that had been rescheduled 3 times due to Covid. Woo Hoo! Finally! #fancy
5. What I’m Dreading:
I’m not really dreading anything right now. 😉
6. What I’m Working On:
I’m working on this blog post as well as some school work.
I am also working on planning some upcoming trips.
7. What I’m Excited About:
I am really excited about lots of fun things scheduled for this month and the months to come!
I’m also excited about how well it’s going with Noom, my new weight loss app.
8. What I’m Watching/Reading:
I needed something funny and light to watch. Joey & I tried to start Ozark, but I just couldn’t continue. It’s not my cup of tea. So, I started watching Young & Hungry and have enjoyed the mindless laughing.
I am rewatching Sweet Magnolia’s on Netflix. Joey is actually watching it with me. We watch it at night after Addison goes to bed. The new season comes out on Feb. 4th, so I wanted to watch it again to refresh my memory.
Last month, I read The Matzah Ball right after Christmas. It was cute chick lit, and I loved the story line. Even if it’s not around Christmas or Hanukkah, this book is a good read.
Here’s the Amazon synopsis:
Rachel Rubenstein-Goldblatt is a nice Jewish girl with a shameful secret: she loves Christmas. For a decade she’s hidden her career as a Christmas romance novelist from her family. Her talent has made her a bestseller even as her chronic illness has always kept the kind of love she writes about out of reach.
But when her diversity-conscious publisher insists she write a Hanukkah romance, her well of inspiration suddenly runs dry. Hanukkah’s not magical. It’s not merry. It’s not Christmas. Desperate not to lose her contract, Rachel’s determined to find her muse at the Matzah Ball, a Jewish music celebration on the last night of Hanukkah, even if it means working with her summer camp archenemy—Jacob Greenberg.
Though Rachel and Jacob haven’t seen each other since they were kids, their grudge still glows brighter than a menorah. But as they spend more time together, Rachel finds herself drawn to Hanukkah—and Jacob—in a way she never expected. Maybe this holiday of lights will be the spark she needed to set her heart ablaze.
I’m currently reading The Wish by Nicholas Sparks and loving it so far.
9. What I’m Listening To:
Right now I’m listening to some sing-along that Addison is playing/watching on Netflix.
10. What I’m Wearing:
This cute gray one comes in a bunch of different colors. The cable knit on the heart makes it super cute and the quality is definitely there.
I have been wearing this Red Long Sleeve Top. I love the heart outline on the front, but this one also has other design options too! It definitely spoke to my heart! <3 😉
I am continuing to wear and love these undershirts from Amazon! So, if you’re on the lookout, grab some of these. They’re a 2 pack for less than $15! And you can do different color choices. I chose both white, but there are many different other options.
11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:
This weekend, I signed Addison up for an Anna/Elsa makeover party. I am not telling her until the day of, so I’m excited about surprising her!
12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:
This month, in February, we have a week off for Winter break, so we have some fun things planned. We are also excited about Valentine’s day!
13. What Else is New:
Thank you all for reading and supporting my blog! I truly am thankful for all of you! I hope you have an awesome day!! See you back here on Friday!
