**What’s up Wednesday** {8.30.2023}

It’s the last Wednesday of the month. I am linking up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer and sharing what has been going on with us lately. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

Settle in ya’ll because this one is a long one. 🙂

1. What We Are Eating This Week:

Sunday: We ate at Mom & Dads She cooked: Mini Meatloaf balls, creamed corn, Squash Casserole, Pinto Beans & Cornbread

Monday: Baked Chicken Spaghetti with salad

Tuesday: Slow Cooker Jambalaya with cheddar biscuits

Wednesday: Leftover Chicken Spaghetti

Thursday: Leftover Jambalaya

Friday: Out to eat with friends

Saturday: Kitchen’s closed!

2. What I’m Reminiscing About:

I am loving all the back to school and end of summer pictures.

These were from 2019.

And here is 2020. When everything was weird

Here we are in 2021.

And last year… such sweet memories.

3. What I’m Loving:

So, I love anything Colleen Rothschild. I’ve been using her products for a couple years now and don’t ever want to change. I recently ordered the Brightening Serum and I don’t know why I waited so long. It’s great, and I would definitely recommend if you have uneven skin tone or any dark spots.

4. What We’ve Been Up To:

We started off the month with the first day of school!

Joey and Addison ran a 5k in the miserable heat and humidity. Me & Whitley were the cheering squad. Ha!

We have had lots of fun friend time.

Joey has been busy working on our outdoor patio.

5. What I’m Dreading:

I’m not really dreading anything right now. 😉

I am looking forward to cooler weather and all the “ber” months. 🙂

6. What I’m Working On:

I’m working on a whole lot of school stuff- planning parent conferences & meetings, making teacher schedules, working on many different spreadsheets & updating data. My eyes tend to be crossed by the end of the day.

7. What I’m Excited About:

I am really excited about all the fun Fall things we have planned next month.

8. What I’m Watching/Reading:

Unfortunately, my reading time has taken a hit. I’m sad about it, but it is what it is. I only got one book read this month.

I finally finished People We Meet on Vacation, and it was so cute! I loved the characters, and their interactions. It kept me engaged and want to read more. I would definitely recommend this one!

Two best friends. Ten summer trips. One last chance to fall in love.

Poppy and Alex. Alex and Poppy. They have nothing in common. She’s a wild child; he wears khakis. She has insatiable wanderlust; he prefers to stay home with a book. And somehow, ever since a fateful car share home from college many years ago, they are the very best of friends. For most of the year they live far apart—she’s in New York City, and he’s in their small hometown—but every summer, for a decade, they have taken one glorious week of vacation together.

Until two years ago, when they ruined everything. They haven’t spoken since.

Poppy has everything she should want, but she’s stuck in a rut. When someone asks when she was last truly happy, she knows, without a doubt, it was on that ill-fated, final trip with Alex. And so, she decides to convince her best friend to take one more vacation together—lay everything on the table, make it all right. Miraculously, he agrees.

Now she has a week to fix everything. If only she can get around the one big truth that has always stood quietly in the middle of their seemingly perfect relationship. What could possibly go wrong?

People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry

I just finished the second season of The Summer I turned Pretty. Have you watched it? I know it’s about a bunch of teenagers, but I loved it! It’s raw, it’s very emotional, it’s really good!

9. What I’m Listening To:

I’ve got iHeart radio playing country right now.

10. What I’m Wearing:

I am still wearing Jules & James on rotation. This outfit is one I just bought. I love the beautiful colors in this Berry Floral top, and the wide leg raw hem Brick pants are so comfortable! It’s going to be great for Fall!

Ya’ll, if you haven’t checked out this boutique, you need to go check it out now! They have such good things!

I am still wearing these Corky Wedge Sandals to school, and I’m still so happy with the purchase! They are so cute, and the footbed is so soft and spongy. They’re going to be great for transitioning right into Fall.

11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:

It’s Labor Day weekend, but I’m not really sure what we have planned. Hopefully some fun!

12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:

Another little beach trip and the start of festival season! I’m giddy!!

13. Favorite Amazon Find:

I needed a new can opener because my electronic one died recently. I did lots of research and decide on the Kitchen Mama Portable Can Opener. I’ve used it multiple times, and I love it! Just push the button on top, and it works its magic. So easy, and I love how it cuts the entire lid off.

14. What Else Is New:

If you made it this far, thank you! I’m done.

Thank you all for reading. I can’t wait to read what all you’ve been up to!

I hope you have an awesome day!! See you back here on Friday!

I thought for sure I had read The People We Meet on Vacation until I read your blurb and realized that is one of her books I must have missed! I’ll add it to my list.

Those throwback school photos of your daughter are so precious and I love how you can see that age progression.
