**What’s up Wednesday** {8.31.2022}

What in the world? I can’t believe it’s already the end of August and tomorrow is September!! I mean, I am very excited, but I just can’t believe how fast it’s flying by.

It’s the last Wednesday of the month, so most of you know what that means. On this day, I link up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer. I am sharing what has been going on with us lately. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little of what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

Grab your coffee, tea, or whatever you’re sipping on and settle in. 🙂

1. What We Are Eating This Week:

Sunday: Jambalaya, Air Fryer Okra

Monday: Creamy Chicken Enchiladas, Black Beans (pictured below)

Tuesday: Hamburgers with sweet potato fries

Wednesday:  Leftover Jambalaya

Thursday: Leftover Enchiladas

Friday: Vegetable Soup with Hamburger Meat

Saturday: Kitchen’s closed!

2. What I’m Reminiscing About:

This sweet memory popped up of Addison at 9 mos. I remember she was very hard to get to stay still for a picture.

Look at all these precious Easter memories.

Look at these sweet ballerinas from 2019.

I loved this WDW set and this brown eyed beauty in 2019.

All these school pictures from 2019, 2020, and 2021 are the best!

3. What I’m Loving:

I just found out about this trick, and I’m so excited and loving it! Did ya’ll know about this? So, do you ever open your dishwasher, and your dishes are still damp/wet? Ugh! I get so irritated. Well, I learned how to dry that up. Just flap a microfiber towel over the top, half inside half outside, and close the door. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes, and it will soak up all that dampness. Genius! I love learning little life tricks like this!

4. What We’ve Been Up To:

We finished up Soccer this month, and Addison had a great season! She learned a lot!

We enjoyed some hiking in the woods.

Joey and I had a great date night while Addison lived her best life with my parents.

And, we have enjoyed lots of ice cream!

Joey, Addison, and his Dad went camping earlier this month, and they had the BEST Time!

5. What I’m Dreading:

I’m not really dreading anything right now. 😉

6. What I’m Working On:

I’m working on this blog post as well as some school work.

I am also busy planning for some upcoming trips.

7. What I’m Excited About:

I am really excited about all the fun things we have planned next month and then moving into Fall.

8. What I’m Watching/Reading:

Joey and I are still watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It’s a good late night, date night, show.

Joey and I just started “Echoes” on Netflix. We have only watched the first episode, and it’s crazy. I want to know what is going on! Have you guys watched it?

Being back in the swing of things at school has left me with little time to read. When I finally do sit down at night, around 9:30, I literally can barely get through 1 page before I fall asleep. #struggles

I am still reading Nancy Thayer’s “Summer Love“. It is a little bit of a slow read for me, but that may also be because I can only get through 1 page a day.

When four strangers rent bargain-basement rooms in an old hotel near the beach, they embark on the summer of their lives. First there’s Ariel Spencer, who has big dreams of becoming a writer and is looking for inspiration in Nantucket’s high society. Her new friend Sheila Murphy is a good Catholic girl from Ohio whose desire for adventure is often shadowed by her apprehension. Then there’s small-town Missourian Wyatt Smith, who’s immediately taken with Ariel. The last of the four, Nick Volkov, is looking to make a name for himself and have a blast along the way. Despite their differences, the four bond over trips to the beach, Wednesday-night dinners, and everything that Nantucket has to offer. But venturing out on their own for the first time, with all its adventure and risks, could change the course of their lives.

Twenty-six years after that amazing summer, Ariel, Sheila, Wyatt, and Nick reunite at the hotel where they first met. Now it’s called The Lighthouse and Nick owns the entire operation with his wife and daughter. Ariel and Wyatt, married for decades, arrive with their son, and Sheila’s back too, with her daughter by her side. Life hasn’t exactly worked out the way they had all hoped. Ariel’s dreams have since faded and been pushed aside, but she’s determined to rediscover the passion she once had. Nick has the money and reputation of a successful businessman, but is it everything he had hoped for? And Sheila has never been able to shake the secret she’s kept since that summer. Being back together again will mean confronting the past and finding themselves. Meanwhile, the next generation discovers Nantucket: Their children explore the island together, experiencing love and heartbreak and forging lifelong bonds, just as their parents did all those years ago. It’s sure to be one unforgettable reunion.

This delightful novel from beloved storyteller Nancy Thayer explores the potential of dreams and the beauty of friendship.”

9. What I’m Listening To:

I’m not listening to anything right now.

10. What I’m Wearing:

If you’ve been following along this month, you know I’ve been on the search for some new sandals for school.

These are Vionics, and so you know with this brand, they are made for comfort. The insole actually hugs the arch of your foot, which is what I needed. They are considered a wedge, but it’s so slight that I personally wouldn’t label them as this. My color is called Macaroon, but they have other colors to choose from. They are a little pricey, but these are really well made sandals for feet that need the extra support. Have you guys ever tried this brand before?

My jeans are Wit & Wisdom. They do have a raw hem, but it’s very subtle. These are a dark wash with no destressing. Of course these have the Absolution technology in the waistband. Don’t forget to go down a size in these.

Vionic Wedge SandalWit & Wisdom Raw Hem Jeans

And… here is the third pair! The foot bed on these is so soft and with the big cork wedge, they are very comfortable! The straps are foam, so they are not constricting at all! These are also Steve Madden, and I ordered my true size!

Steve Madden Wedge Sandal / Democracy White Bootcut Jeans

This pair is made my Steve Madden, so you know it’s a good company. They’re Espadrilles. I feel like they did run true to size. It stated if you’re a 1/2 size, size down. I did, and that size worked! The material is all stretchy, so no velcro or buckle. I do like the natural color, so I can wear them with lots of different color schemes. I do have a high instep, so it was a little tight across the top of my foot, but I do feel like it would stretch out over wear. And, Right now they are on sale!

These are some of my favorite pants right now! They are hyperstretch, so they are super comfortable! I have them in so many colors- smoke, navy, olive, and wine! They are great for wearing to work!

Steve Madden Platform Espadrille / Dark Olive YMI Pants

Right now, in Georgia, this is not me! No ma’am. But in just a few months, this will be me with a Starbucks in hand. I think this sweater is so cute and looks perfect for Fall! I love all the different color options.

Chunky Sweater

I thought I’d share something Addison is wearing right now too. 😉 Since she has outgrown everything, she’s so tall, I had to order her some new leotards. I grabbed this green one and this pink one! They are very cute and will be perfect to wear to dance! If you’re not liking these colors, they come in lots of other options! 🙂

11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:

This weekend is Labor Day! So, 3 day weekend! Woo Hoo! I really don’t know what we have planned, but hopefully we can get outdoors and do something fun! Maybe go hiking and just enjoy the long weekend.

12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:

Next month, I’m super excited about so many things! We have an amazing trip planned! And, hopefully can go to the Apple Orchard at some point! I will be sharing our Fall Bucket List soon!

13. Favorite Amazon Find:

This product is a little personal, but it has never let me down! I have used this product for years! It leaves smooth, non bumpy skin which is definitely what everyone wants in a shave outcome.

Smooth Shaving Cream

I needed a new 2 cup measuring cup. So, this angled one just came in. Right on time! If you’ve never used an angled measuring cup, you need to order this one immediately! Trust me!

14. What Else Is New:

I signed Addison up for basketball this past weekend. I foresee lots of dribbling and practicing in the near future! And that’s okay. 😉

Thank you all for reading, friends. I hope you have an awesome day!! See you back here on Friday!
