What's Up Wednesday

**What’s up Wednesday** {7.30.2025}

what's up wednesday new graphic

It’s the last Wednesday of the month. I am linking up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer and sharing what has been going on with us lately. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

1. What We Are Eating This Week:

Sunday: We ate with Mom & Dad. She made Mini Meatloaf balls, hashbrown casserole, peas, and fried okra

Monday: Chicken Rice Bowls

Tuesday: Hamburgers with Smashed Potatoes

Wednesday: Grilled Shrimp Linguine

Thursday: Back to School Brinner!

Friday: Leftovers

Saturday: Kitchen’s closed!

2. What I’m Reminiscing About:

I do love some Red, White & Blue!

These were from 2019.

Enjoyed some beach time in 2020.

And here is 2021.

July fun in 2022.

2023….

And lots of Red, White & Blue and family time last July.

3. What I’m Loving:

I got this candle warmer for my birthday and turned around and ordered one for my birthday. It’s very easy to use. I turn it on right when I wake up. It has a timer setting which is great, and you can change the brightness of the light. I can’t recommend it enough! And, it’s been great with my new Honeycrisp candle from Anthro.

4. What We’ve Been Up To:

We started off the month going to the Georgia Aquarium!

We celebrated America’s Birthday!

We took a day trip and visited some beautiful trails.

We went on an amazing family trip for my birthday to the DR.

I shared Part I here

Addison loved a week at Dance camp that was Wicked themed!

We did a fun girls overnight trip!

I had more birthday celebrations with my sweet family!

And we enjoyed so many pool days with friends!

5. What I’m Dreading:

I’m dreading getting up early in the mornings and having to rush and get to school. I’m going to miss these slow mornings.

6. What I’m Working On:

I’m working on all the beginning of school year things. It’s busy!

7. What I’m Excited About:

I am excited to see the students! We also have some fun things planned for the month.

8. What I’m Watching/Reading:

Carley Fortune is always a  favorite summer author ever since I read her debut title, Every Summer After, year’s ago. I was hooked. I always get her newest books every year and look forward to them. And, spoiler alert, One Golden Summer is a spin off of her first novel! It’s good! I would definitely recommend it, especially if you’ve read her first novel.

I always love Abby Jimenez’s books. They’re typically rom-com and very cute chick lit, feel-good books. Say You’ll Remember Me fits that description. I don’t feel like it was my favorite novel written by her, but I did enjoy it, and I would recommend it to read!

There’s no such thing as a perfect guy, but Xavier Rush comes disastrously close. A gorgeous veterinarian giving Greek god vibes—all while cuddling a tiny kitten? Immediate yes. That is until Xavier opens his mouth and proves that even sculpted gods can say the absolute wrong thing. Like, really wrong. Of course, there’s nothing Samantha loves more than proving an asshole wrong . . . unless, of course, he can admit he made a mistake.

But after one incredible and seemingly endless date, Samantha is forced to admit the truth, that her family is in crisis and any kind of relationship would be impossible. Samantha begs Xavier to forget her. To remember their night together as a perfect moment, as crushing as that may be. Only no amount of distance or time is enough to forget what’s between them. And the only thing better than one single perfect memory is to make a life—and even a love—worth remembering.

Say You’ll Remember Me

Katherine Center’s, The Love Haters, was good and it was definitely a fast read for me. I laughed out loud a couple different points. This was while on the plane to the DR, so that was fun! Haha! Grab this one to read if you like funny, cute reads.

Katie Vaughn has been burned by love in the past―now she may be lighting her career on fire. She has two choices: wait to get laid off from her job as a video producer or, at her coworker Cole’s request, take a career-making gig profiling Tom “Hutch” Hutcheson, a Coast Guard rescue swimmer in Key West. The catch? Katie’s not exactly qualified. She can’t swim―but pretends that she can.

Plus, Cole and Hutch are brothers. And they don’t get along. Next stop: paradise! But paradise is messier than it seems. As Katie gets entangled with Hutch (the most scientifically good-looking man she has ever seen . . . but maybe a bit of a love hater), along with his colorful aunt Rue and his rescue Great Dane, she gets trapped in a lie. Or two.

Swim lessons, helicopter flights, conga lines, drinking contests, hurricanes, and stolen kisses ensue―along with chances to tell the truth, to face old fears, and to be truly brave at last.

The Love Haters

I’m currently reading, It’s a Love Story, and I’m sad I don’t have time to read. It definitely took me a little bit to get into it and follow along. But once I got past about page 75, I was hooked!

I have been watching Sullivan’s Crossing, and I love it! It’s sooo good!!

There’s suspense at the end of every episode, and I want to know what happens, so I want to keep watching.

9. What I’m Listening To:

Not a thing at the moment.

10. What I’m Wearing:

I have been wearing this Amazon 2-piece set so much! I wore it traveling! I wear it to run errands. I wore it to the spa. It’s just easy to throw on and go.

This Amazon Short Sleeved Sweater is so soft and so cute! It’s going to be a good one to transition into Fall.

 Shell Slide Sandal

This Amazon Striped Maxi Dress is beautiful! It looks so much more expensive than Amazon. And it has pockets!!

I have seen this Kelly green color everywhere, and I love the fit of this top and all the pretty details!

11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:

I don’t really know what we have planned for the weekend. Probably just getting ready for the school year, but I guess we will see.

12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:

I have a girl’s weekend planned and another weekend we have a camping trip planned. So, excited about those!

13. Favorite Amazon Find:

A few favorite Amazon finds that I wanted to share.

This Amazon bra has a lot of hype. The straps can cross in the back, if needed.

I also ordered this kitsch hair perfume in Amber shores, a week ago! It smells like the beach, and I love it! I get so many compliments!

I took this Sun Bum Cool Down Lotion with us on our trip, and it smells and feels amazing on parched skin.
