Happy Hump Day!! How’s everyone’s week going?
Joey surprised me and planned a trip to the Dominican Republic for my 40th Birthday! On Tuesday morning, we left bright and early to head to the airport. This was Addison’s first flight, so she was both excited and a little nervous.
We enjoyed seeing the sunrise.
And then we were loaded. Our plane took off at 8:15.
My Amazon 2-piece set was perfect to travel in!
And landed about 11:30.
And we took our transfer bus over the La Romana. It was about an hour drive from the airport.
We stayed at the Hyatt Dreams (Family side) La Romana resort. It’s an all inclusive, and we had the preferred level, so we were able to scarf some food down as we were waiting to get checked in. We hadn’t eaten since 5:30 that morning, so we were starving!
Our room wasn’t quite ready, so we headed out to explore and figure out the resort.
The property itself it very spread out. Which is nice.
This was the preferred pool which we enjoyed. It was less crowded and a little more relaxing and quiet than the main pool.
Everything was pristine and gorgeous!
And then our room was ready.
We opted for the King bed with a sleeper sofa. It was great for us!
Once we were in, we put on our swimwear and headed to the pool for a bit before dinner. It was lovely.
Fruity drinks for the win!!
We stayed for a while then we freshened up and headed to eat.
There were 4 restaurant options on the family side. Some were open all meals and some were not. It was a little confusing, but once you figured out, it was fine.
We ate at Coastal, on the first night. A rain shower came through and then a beautiful rainbow.
We pretty much got dessert nightly. Because vacation… haha!
After dinner, we played a few outside games and walked the grounds a bit more.
I loved all the flowers.
I was able to get a picture with my best girl.
I’m so glad she was able to come on this trip with us. It just made it all that much better!
That rounds up Day 1. We headed to bed early and were all rested for our second day! I’ll share the rest of our trip in another post, soon!
