what's up wednesday new graphic

Hi Friends!! I can’t believe we are already at another monthly wrap up. On the other hand, I’m very happy it means Summer is starting! 🙂

It’s the last Wednesday of the month. I am linking up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer and sharing what has been going on with us lately. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

1. What We Are Eating This Week:

It’s Memorial Day week, so our schedule was a little off!

Sunday: Baked Chicken Thighs, Gorgonzola Gnocci, Fried Okra- I know weird combo

Monday: BBQ Ribs, Potatos Au’ Gratin, Baked Beans

Tuesday: Out to eat with the family

Wednesday: Chicken Spaghetti

Thursday: Leftovers

Friday: Camping Meals

Saturday: Grill out Steaks with Baked Potato

2. What I’m Reminiscing About:

These memories were from 2020 when we had to join dance classes online.

And, I included these pictures of the rock garden because later in my blog post, I share these same pics. You can see how much she’s grown.

I used to love joining in to Mother’s Day Tea at Addison’s preschool. It was the sweetest.

These memories were from 2021.

And in 2022 another Mother’s Day Tea, and another dance recital.

In 2023, our last Mother’s Day Tea. Along with Addison’s Kindergarten Graduation. And another dance recital.

In 2024, another trip to the strawberry patch.

Last year in May, we were celebrating Emma, Joey’s sister, graduating from high school.

Along with another dance recital and of course a trip to get strawberries.

3. What I’m Loving:

I am still loving this Spin Brush with Multi-attachments! It’s been great for using around the house.

And, I’m still loving my front porch… since Joey redid it to add Trex. It’s pretty, and I know it’s going to last many years without us having to paint it!

4. What We’ve Been Up To:

We were able to make it to the Strawberry patch, and we got so many delicious berries!

While nearby, we stopped by the little rock garden. So many cool replicas.

Aunt Dot, Mom, and I enjoyed a girl’s night out complete with a Soft Serve Margarita, Amazing, and a trip to the movies to see Devil Wears Prada 2! We all loved it!

We celebrated our sweet teachers for Teacher Appreciation week!

We celebrated our Mamas for Mother’s Day, and I felt very loved too! I am blessed to be this girl’s Mama!

I enjoyed some me time starting with an iced coffee and ending with a Trader Joe’s trip!

Addison had the best time performing in her Recital. It was a full, tiring weekend, but the girls all did fantastic!

We celebrated these great performers!

We celebrated the Seniors, and they came back to walk the halls of their Elementary school. I love this tradition!

And I LOVED seeing some of my former students. It made my heart so full!

We celebrated Addison at her Award’s day. So proud of her and all she accomplished this year!

5. What I’m Dreading:

I’m not dreading anything!! Summer is here!

6. What I’m Working On:

I’m working on my Summer Reading List!! So ready to dive in! I’ll have a Summer Books list ready to post soon!

7. What I’m Excited About:

I am really excited about all the fun things we have planned this summer!

8. What I’m Watching/Reading:

Sally, you did it again! This novel was everything and more! I loved Mabel and all the supporting characters. Minus her Father! I had my theories as I read through, but was shocked by all the twists and turns. It definitely kept me wanting to read more!

Elsie Mabel Fitzpatrick is eighty-one years old. She’s lived on her idyllic street, Kenny Lane, for sixty years–longer than anyone else. Aside from being a curmudgeon who minds everyone else’s business, few would suspect that Elsie has a past that she has worked exceedingly hard at concealing. Because when it comes to murder, no one ever suspects little girls or old ladies. And Elsie Mabel Fitzpatrick, once a little girl and now an old lady, has a strange history of people in her life coming to a foul end.

When a new little girl (talkative, curious, nosy) moves into the neighborhood and stops at nothing to befriend Elsie, her carefully-constructed life threatens to come crashing down as the secrets in Elsie’s past start coming to light. Who was “Mad Mabel” fifty years ago? Who is Elsie Fitzpatrick today? And if the past has a habit of repeating itself, who has the most to lose?

Told with Sally Hepworth’s twists, humor, charm, and heart, MAD MABEL is novel that weaves past and present together–through the power of justice and redemption, and all the way to its stunning conclusion.

I watched two really good things this month- completely different. One on Amazon Prime & one on Netflix.

Have you guys watched Off Campus yet? After watching, I realized it is a whole book series! Whoa! I feel like I need to find these and read them! I LOVED this series! I loved the characters, and the storyline, and let’s not forget the bodies! 😉

I will say, this is very rated R… so Do Not watch around your children! Haha! You’ve been warned! Now, go watch it!

And, I only discovered after watching it that it is actually a Book Series by Elle Kennedy. I’m thinking about starting it! If you’re interested, you can purchase the whole book series here or individually. 😉

Off Campus book series By: Elle Kennedy

Joey & I watched The Crash, on Netflix, after hearing all the hype.

I vaguely remember this story and this happening. But, after watching this, I just kept thinking…. are you kidding me? How could you not value someone’s life?

And her parents, don’t even get me started on them. The lack of discipline and parenting was appauling. This is just a sad, sad story.

9. What I’m Listening To:

I’ve got Toby Keith and other patriotic tunes playing in the background as I work on this on Memorial day.

Proud to be an American!

10. What I’m Wearing:

I’ve been wearing these Essential Crewneck Tees from JCrew on repeat! They’re soft and are a great length!

I picked them up in three colors, but they come in many other colors!

I got my jeans last year, and they are Mica brand. Sadly, they are sold out, and I can’t find them anymore to share a link. I just saw these Risen Cropped Distressed Jeans, and I think they are so cute! And they look very similar!

And, of course, my big favorite are these Crocs- Miami 2-strap sandals. The BEST!!!

I paired this Madewell Tee with the same jeans and sandals! I mean I love that these are Crocs, but don’t look like Crocs! If I’m honest, I’ve never owned a pair of Crocs before.

11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:

We are supposed to go camping. Well, let’s be honest, it’s glamping. I hope the weather cooperates!

12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:

Summer time!!!!

Turning off the alarm, Reading all the Beach Reads, Beach time, Traveling with the fam, pool time with friends…. so many things!

13. Favorite Amazon Find:

This OEAK Deep V bra is a good one! It has the perfect stretch and no Under Wire! Need I say more!??

14. What Else Is New:

Not a thing.

Thank you all for reading. At probably around 1:00 today, I will be out for the summer!! I’m so ready!

I hope you have an awesome day!!

See you back here on Friday!

  1. I want to try a soft serve margarita so badly!

  2. Happy Summer!!! You made it! I remember trying to do dance class on the computer, too! The dance instructor would send us videos and we would dance away in our living room. No idea if we had any technique right, though!

    1. Haha! Right! That was the weirdest of times. I hope that never happens again!
