*Weekend Recap* {1.21.2020}

Happy Tuesday!!  Because of the holiday yesterday, I’m sharing my weekend recap today. 🙂

We had an awesome weekend. Saturday was yucky, but we were at home waiting for our bed to be delivered, so it wasn’t too bad.

We started off going out to eat with my parents Friday night to celebrate Joey’s birthday. We ate some yummy seafood and enjoyed lots of laughs from our little entertainer.

We got up early Saturday morning in anticipation of our new bed arriving. We started breaking down our bed and moving it upstairs. She helped so much. Haha!

The delivery people weren’t scheduled to arrive until later that afternoon, so we ran to grab some breakfast at a local place. It was delicious! They were so sweet and made Addison some Mickey pancakes.

That afternoon and evening, we just hung around the house, waited for the bed to arrive, and watched movies. It was a yucky, cold day. Once the bed arrived, we ordered a pizza and Joey built a fire. It was a perfect evening by the fire.

Sunday morning, we lazed around for a little while. We decided to go riding around exploring somewhere. It was frigid and the wind made it even colder. We ended up in North Georgia in an adorable town called Helen. All the shops and buildings are replicated after Germany. They have an Octoberfest celebration every year that is very popular. On this day, it was frigid and the wind made it worse.

On the long, curvy ride up there, Addison got sick. 🙁 So, we had to pull over, change her clothes and clean her up a bit. Luckily after that, she seemed fine.

On our drive, we drove through some sweet, little towns. One actually holds a special place dear to my heart, Dahlonega. It’s a beautiful, little gold rush town that I actually lived in for five years while I attended College. At the time, it was called North Georgia College & State University (NGCSU), however, now it’s changed to University of North Georgia. #ngcsuforever The campus has changed so much since I went there, but it’s still beautiful!

Here we are driving into Helen. After looking back at the pictures, I noticed the airplane in the sky. So awesome!

Even the chain restaurants mimic the German style. #wendys

It was soooo cold and windy…. brrrr!!!

In my early twenties, my bestie, Caroline and I went on a European tour. It was such fun and we definitely laughed our way through Europe. One of the stops was Heidelberg. So, I just had to get a picture of this.

We needed to get some warmth after walking around for a few minutes a little bit, so we ran into this cute, little coffee shop. While we waited, Addison made funny faces. #cheapentertainment

We walked down to the Chattahoochee River . #alanjackson

Some more pictures of the town.

That was it for our little road trip. If you live close to Helen, I would recommend going to just walk around and looking at the cute shops. When it’s a little warmer, of course. They had putt-putt golf, a mountain coaster, carriage rides, and great looking restaurants. We hope to go back when it warms up.

We got back and luckily had no more sickness on the ride. That night, Joey’s dad took him out for his birthday. We had so much fun!!

That’s it for today. I hope you all have a great week! I’ll see you back on Friday for Friday favorites!!

Thanks for reading!!
