**Weekend Recap** A Little Getaway Part II {2.19.2020}

Happy Wednesday, friends!! Today is part two of our little getaway this past weekend. So, we left off leaving the aquarium. We wanted to eat at a certain restaurant, and we had about 4 hours to kill before dinnertime. We ate a snack in the car, and decided to go to Anakeesta. This is a new attraction that has just recently been added.

This attraction takes either chairs or cabins up the mountain and there is a little village and sky/tree walk area up there. I wasn’t prepared for us to be outside so much, so I hadn’t packed any gloves. I just told Addison to stick her hands in her pockets. She was fine.

Here we are at the top.

The things to do up there were really neat. We enjoyed doing the tree walk.

After the walk outside, we grabbed some coffee and hot chocolate to warm up.

American flag flying from the sky bridge within view.

It was about 3:15 and the restaurant we wanted to eat at was very popular. They opened at 4:30 and started taking reservations 1 hour prior to opening. When 3:30 hit, I began dialing. I called about 20 times until I finally got through. They only had a 4:30 and a 5:30. I picked the 4:30… big mistake… huge! On the way down the mountain, looking at all the traffic, I realized we needed a plan. It was about a mile to the restaurant. With traffic, the drive said 22 minutes. It was about 4 when we got off the lift. I had tried to keep calling to change it to 5:30, but they must have taken the phone off the hook because I tried almost 100 times, no joke. Couldn’t get through. Joey decided to run to the restaurant, and me and Addison would bring the car…. This is where it really went bad…

We ran to the third floor and got in the car. It took us almost an hour to get down to the bottom floor and exit out of the parking garage. Then it took us about 30 minutes to drive 1 mile to the restaurant. Traffic was insane!! I told myself if I ever got out of the parking deck, I will never get in one again.

Poor Joey was seated and just waiting on us for almost an hour. The restaurant was also a mad house. It was delicious, but if it’s always like this, I probably won’t go back. The waitress was super nice about him just hanging out waiting on us. We left her a nice tip. If you’re interested, we ate at the Peddler.

We were seated right on the river, and the view was beautiful!

We were so stressed after that ordeal, we treated ourselves to dessert afterward. 😉

The next morning, we loaded up and headed back towards home. When we got home, this is what we arrived to. Ugh! A muddy mess! They are changing our intersection. Our road was closed and we had to drive through the mud to get to our house. #insane

The only good thing that came out of it is they brought us about 8 loads of dirt, so we can flatten out an area to build Joey a barn/shed/large building.

On Monday, one of my besties Katy came down. We hadn’t seen her in a while, and it was so good to hang out! I truly cherish all my girlfriends and the time we have together. We did some mad shopping at Trader Joe’s, Loft, and had some delicious lunch. All in all, it was a perfect day!! The weather was beautiful and was a little peek at some spring-like weather. It was such a tease.

That’s it for today… I hope you guys have a great day!

We are off to meet up with another bestie and drive down to visit our bestie and sweet babes for a little play-date/catch up time. I am super excited about it!! I’ve been looking forward to this for months. Thank you so much for reading!! I will see you back here on Friday for some Friday Favorites!!

xoxo
