**Weekend Recap** A Little Getaway Part I {2.17.2020}

Happy Monday!! If you’re like me, I hope you have today off or better yet the whole week. It’s our February break, and we are planning to enjoy every minute of it.

Let’s start with Friday, Valentine’s Day! Addison gave Adalynn this for Valentine’s Day.

Of course with Friday being Valentine’s Day, it was extra wild/exciting at school. Our students were so excited and cute with all their Valentines. They were really sweet to me too with lots of treats! 😉

Our school had a wellness incentive going in January to track our daily steps. I won for the most steps, which was a little shocking to me, but I guess with all the walking at school and then running around at home, I do put in a lot of steps. I usually average around 10,000 steps a day.

Earlier in the week we booked a spontaneous, last minute trip to Tennessee. We left right after work on Friday. I was rushing like a mad woman trying to get everything finished before I left.  We stopped on the way up there and had some “delicious” Mexican food for Valentine’s Day. Nothing says I love you more than some chips, salsa, and queso.

We got to our hotel about 8 that night. We settled in and were all asleep by 10. We awoke bright and early the next morning. I took some pictures of the river from our balcony.

I hurried up and got ready, and we headed off to a BIG breakfast. If you’re ever near Sevierville, TN, I suggest going to “Five Oaks Farm Kitchen“.  Just a little FYI though, the portions are HUGE, and I suggest going hungry and sharing.

My cute, little bench mate.

I had booked aquarium tickets before we left. After breakfast, we headed up to Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg. This was the beginning of the madness… on to that a little later. We parked in the parking deck beside the aquarium, on the third floor. (Note to self, never park this high up, try to find a spot closer to the bottom)

We headed in… Here’s our little fishy.

We really enjoyed this aquarium. There was a long walk way part where the huge fish tank was over your head. It was full of fish and sharks. It was like they were going to come right up to you.

Addison enjoyed the indoor playground and these little fish tanks where she could crawl up inside. #sanitizerplease

High fiving the penguin……

Then a hug.

Surf’s up…

That’s it for today…. I’ll share the second part of our trip on Wednesday, where we about froze to death going up a mountain, and I about went stir crazy stuck in a parking garage. (Preview: I’m claustrophobic and freak out in enclosed spaces).

I hope you all have a wonderful day!! One of my besties, Katy, is coming down to meet up with me and Addison for some shopping and a lunch date. We are super excited!!

xoxo
