** Fourth of July Trip Recap Part II** {7.21.2021}

Happy Wednesday! Last week, while chatting about our trip, I left off on Sunday, the Fourth of July. If you missed Part I, read it here.

Today, I’m sharing the second part of our trip. At this point of our trip, the weather is getting really iffy. There is a Tropical Storm/Hurricane heading towards Florida, and at this point the meteorologists are not sure which way it’s going to turn and where it’s going to land. Joey really doesn’t want to be in our camper if there’s a hurricane coming, and I don’t really want to either.

Originally, our plan was to leave Panama City Beach, on Monday, and drive East to Carrabelle RV Resort. We really wanted to go there, but we were very leery of the storm. The campground we were staying at, Pine Glen, had nothing available to extend our stay. And, I just wasn’t ready to go home. So, we called Emerald Coast RV Resort, and they had a spot for us for a couple more days! So, we only had to cut our vacation short, one day. Yay!!

The campgrounds were only about 5 minutes apart, so we went and grabbed a delicious breakfast at The Pancakery. Checkout was at Noon and Check-In for the other campground was at Noon, so we were good to just take our time.

We were moved and set back up within an hour. Addison was begging to go to the pool. It was chilly.

We wanted something pretty easy to eat this night. We ended up here for a burger and shakes. Addison wanted pictures in the big chair.

After dinner, we went to take a stroll on the beach and took a few pics.

We still had some daylight left, so we ended the night by playing some putt putt golf.

The next day, was our last day, since we were leaving to come home a day early, due to Hurricane Elsa. 🙁

So, we headed to the beach. We were going to make the most of it!

When we got out there. We got set up and noticed this heading our way! What in the world? We left our chairs out there and ran under the covered area. Thankfully, just in time. It came torrential rain for about 30 minutes. We waited it out and were then good to go.

Joey and Addison back at it.

After a day at the beach, we got cleaned up and headed to Pier Park. We ate dinner at the Back Porch and tried to shop while avoiding the rain showers.

We headed back to camp and played for a little bit on the playground.

The next morning, we were up, packed and loaded. We did a last lap around the park and were headed back home. So sad to return home but glad to spend some time together, just the three of us.

Some people may be interested in knowing how we do meals while camping. Typically, we make breakfast at the camp. We might go out 1 or 2 mornings for breakfast if we are there a week, but the norm is, we will just cook there. We typically cook the meats (bacon, sausage, etc… ) on our griddle outside under the awning. That way, it doesn’t smell up the camper. I usually make eggs/grits/biscuits inside on the stove/oven.

For lunch, we usually just eat some snacky food or maybe make a sandwich. We usually just take things to the beach/pool or come back and eat something at the camp.

For dinner, we usually go out to eat. We might cook dinner one time, but this doesn’t always happen. 😉

That’s it for our trip. If you have any questions, shoot them to me. Thank you all for following along. See you back on Friday for our favorites. 🙂

Glad that Elsa didn’t mess up your vacation plans too much. We rent houses when we go on vacation and we do the same thing– cook a fairly big breakfast, eat sandwiches and snacks for lunch, and often go out for dinner or cook in just one or two nights.
