**Summer Reading** {6.15.2022}
Happy Wednesday!! We are in full force summer break mode even though the first day of summer is still a few days away.
If you know me at all, you know that in the summer, I am reading as much as possible. Especially when I’m at the beach. I love the books that have to do with beaches or beach towns. They just make me so happy. 
So, today, I’m sharing with you some books that are on my to-read list for this summer. And if you have some you think I should add, please let me know! I’m giving you Amazon’s synopsis since I haven’t read them yet.
I enjoy reading Nancy Thayer books because they take place on Nantucket. I typically always read at least one of her books during the summer.
When four strangers rent bargain-basement rooms in an old hotel near the beach, they embark on the summer of their lives. First there’s Ariel Spencer, who has big dreams of becoming a writer and is looking for inspiration in Nantucket’s high society. But venturing out on their own for the first time, with all its adventure and risks, could change the course of their lives.
Twenty-six years after that amazing summer, Ariel, Sheila, Wyatt, and Nick reunite at the hotel where they first met. Now it’s called The Lighthouse and Nick owns the entire operation with his wife and daughter. Ariel and Wyatt, married for decades, arrive with their son, and Sheila’s back too, with her daughter by her side. Life hasn’t exactly worked out the way they had all hoped. I always read Mary Kay Andrews newest novel in the summertime. Although I do enjoy her books, they are a tad long.
Hattie Kavanaugh went to work restoring homes for Kavanaugh & Son Restorations at eighteen, married the boss’s son at twenty, and became a widow at twenty-five. Now, she’s passionate about her work, but that’s the only passion in her life. “Never love something that can’t love you back,” is advice her father-in-law gives her, but Hattie doesn’t follow it and falls head-over-heels for a money pit of a house. She’s determined to make it work, but disaster after disaster occurs, and Hattie’s dream might cost Kavanaugh & Son their livelihood. Hattie needs money, and fast.
When a slick Hollywood producer shows up in her hometown of Savannah, Georgia, she gets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: star in a beach house renovation reality show called The Homewreckers, cast against a male lead who may be a love interest, or may be the ultimate antagonist. Soon, there’s more at stake than bad pipes and dry rot: during the demolition, evidence comes to light that points to the mysterious disappearance of a young wife and mother years before.
With a burned out detective investigating the case, an arsonist on the loose, two men playing with her emotions, and layers upon layers of vintage wallpaper causing havoc, it’s a question of who will flip, who will flop, and if Hattie will ever get her happily-ever-after.
I have only read one other book by this author, In Five Years. I remember it being very memorable and it being one of my favorite books that I read last year. I have high hopes for this one. From the description, it sounds very cute and right up my aliway. 😉

Rebecca Serle’s next great love story is here, and this time it’s between a mother and a daughter. With her signature “heartbreaking, redemptive, and authentic” (Jamie Ford, New York Times bestselling author) prose, Serle has crafted a transcendent novel about how we move on after loss, and how the people we love never truly leave us.
Susan Mallery is another favorite author. I love all her characters and the way she really interlaces them throughout her novels. I’m excited to read this one!

I enjoy Christina Lauren novels. I find it very intriguing that it’s actually two authors writing these stories. I’m sure they will dazzle me with this one too.

Elin Hilderbrand is probably my favorite author even though her most recent books haven’t been favorites, in my opinion. #sigh I’m cheering her on and crossing my fingers that this one pulls her back to a front runner! It came out yesterday, so I’m super excited to get my hands on it.

I read Emily Henry’s Beach Read and People We Meet on Vacation last year, and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them! This one looks very charming as well!

I’m reading Summer Love right now an am nearly 1/2 way through; it’s super cute so far. I also read Homewreckers, One Italian summer, and the Summer Getaway and enjoyed them all for different reasons. I’m waiting rather impatiently for Hotel Nantucket to come through our library loan program.
