**What’s Up Wednesday** {7.27.2022}
I can’t believe it’s the last Wednesday of the month!! And the last Wednesday of the summer for me! I’m linking up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer. I’m sharing what has been going on with us lately. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what I’m watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.
Grab your coffee, tea, lemonade or whatever you’re sipping on and settle in.
1. What We Are Eating This Week:
This week being pre-planning, I have been slacking a little bit in the dinner department. So, here’s what will hopefully be happening.
Sunday: We ate at Mom & Dad’s. She cooked ribs, mac n’ cheese, baked beans, and deviled eggs. She had a chocolate dump cake for dessert. It was all delicious.
Monday: Turkey Zucchini Meatloaf with mashed cauliflower and air fryer okra
Tuesday: Southwest Chicken Rice Bowls
Wednesday: Leftover Zucchini Meatloaf
Thursday: Leftover Chicken Rice Bowls
Friday: Date Night
Saturday: Out to Eat! Kitchen’s closed!
2. What I’m Reminiscing About:
Look at these young chicks from 11 years ago when we went to Europe. Wow! Can’t believe it’s been 11 years!
We used to have so much fun on girl’s trips to the beach!
Looking back at all our summers as a family is giving me all the feels.
These were in 2019.
And in 2020.
These are all from 2021.
3. What I’m Loving:
I love getting a new Erin Condren planner and things for the new school year. This year I grabbed this planner. I love the stripes and the setup! I ended up also grabbing this coiled notebook to match. I’m so excited to use it! Yes, I’m a little OCD and dorky to be excited about these. It’s the little things.
4. What We’ve Been Up To:
We have had a lot going on lately. We have had so much fun this month! We got away for a short beach trip and had an awesome trip!
We had a fun girl’s trip to the lake house.
My girl and I enjoyed a birthday lunch together.
And, we had so much fun celebrating the 4th of July!
5. What I’m Dreading:
I’m dreading the crazy business that comes with the beginning of a new school year.
6. What I’m Working On:
I’m working on this blog post as well as some school work and spreadsheets.
I am also busy planning some upcoming trips.
7. What I’m Excited About:
I am excited about all the fun things we have planned next month and the excitement that comes with a start to a new school year!
8. What I’m Watching/Reading:
I am very excited about the new season of Southern Charm, and I’m loving it so far! I love the original characters, but this show is full of drama, and I’m there for it! Ha!
Joey and I started The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as our “date night” show. We are enjoying it. I didn’t think he would like it, but he does. Just FYI, it does have language and parts are Rated R. Just letting you know in case you’re sensitive to that sort of thing.
Joey and I started watching the new season of Virgin River as another “date night” show. The first episode! Holy Cow!! It was intense!! We are about into episode 4 now, and it’s getting intense again! I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
What are you guys watching?
I finally finished The Hotel Nantucket. I have mixed feelings about this one. You know that my love for Elin Hilderbrand books runs deep. I have loved her books since she began writing. However, her latest books haven’t been my favorites. Now, this one… a lot of it revolves around a ghost character which I do not typically care for. However, she didn’t throw it in your face and make it real weird or creepy. So, if you love her as an author, I would definitely give it a read.
Now… this one…. Every Summer After…..I can 1000% without a doubt tell you all to read this! This book right here will stick with me! It’s one of the best books I’ve read this year, and really one of the best books I’ve ever read! It follows a girl’s journey after her parents buy a summer cabin on a lake. It flips back and forth from the present to the past, learning about things happening each summer. It is GOOD! Go Read it now, if you haven’t! If you have, I want to chat! Did you love it?
9. What I’m Listening To:
Right now I’m listening to some instrumental music on Pandora.
10. What I’m Wearing:
These are my Wit & Wisdom Itty Bitty Bootcut jeans. They’re so comfortable and stretchy and suck you in in all the right places. I love the little bootcut to switch up my style some days and can easily be dressed up or down. Don’t forget to size down in these. I styled it with this simple tee from JCrew factory simply because it’s what I had on at the moment.
I have on this white flounce blouse with these black ankle skinny jeans. The top is on sale for $40 right now, and there are a few colors and sizes still available. They keep coming in and out of stock. The jeans are high waisted and also have the Absolution technology which is amazing! I love that you can dress these up too! Don’t forget to size down in the pants.
Wit & Wisdom Flounce Blouse / High Waist Skinny Ankle Jeans- Black / Sorel Wedge Boots (waterproof)
I grabbed this Wacoal Wire-Free T-shirt bra. It’s so soft and great for just throwing on. I grabbed it in the Rose Dust color.
This Madewell Henley Sweater is so cute and soft! I love the watermelon color, but there are lots of other really pretty colors. I think the buttons add an extra detail to the sweater.
11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:
We don’t have a lot going on this weekend. We have soccer on Saturday, and then we will be getting ready for the start of the school year.
12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:
Next month, I’m excited about starting my new position at the school and seeing all the kiddos sweet faces.
13. Favorite Amazon Find:
I ordered this wireless keyboard and mouse combo for the new year. I love the purple/rainbow color, but it comes in other color options also. The keyboard has raised keys and allows them to type quietly.
I ordered some more of this hardwood floor cleaner from Amazon, and it’s been great! I like the way it smells, and it does a great job cleaning and does not leave streaks. This is the gallon jug I use to fill up my spray bottle.
14. What Else Is New:
I love sharing with you some of my favorite things. One of my favorite local boutiques is online. All the girls are just adorable, and I love watching their lives. Check out Jules & James Boutique.
Colleen Rothschild is having their Christmas in July sale right now! Right now is the time to stock up! I always grab extra products when they have a sale! If you have never tried the products, the Radiant Cleansing Balm is the bomb for taking off makeup. It literally just melts off. I use the Extreme Recovery Cream at night. I use the Sheer Renewal Cream as my moisturizer for the day. These are my essentials, but I also have the Glycolic Pads that I use once or twice a week. When I’m really dry in the winter, especially, I use the Face Oil No. 9.
Thank you all so much for reading. I am so thankful for all of you! I hope you have an awesome day!! See you back here for some favorites on Friday!

I have been feeling the same way about Elin’s books; but I did think this was okay as I mostly able to ignore the ghost. LOL
