Hello Monday Weekend Recap

**Hello Monday** {11.11.2024}

Well, hello Monday! We had a full weekend and loved spending lots of time with my little family.

Like the norm, I’m linking up with Holly and Sarah for Hello Monday and sharing a recap of our weekend.

Friday morning, we had our Veteran’s day breakfast and ceremony. This is always one of my favorite days of the year.

I got to school about 6:20 to get the big coffee urns going. They take a long time to brew. I also needed to make sure I had plenty of time to get everything set out as people brought it in. The breakfast and guests were supposed to arrive at 7:30.

Funny story now… not so funny then… I made the 2 big urns of coffee, and the grounds seeped down in the pot while brewing. It obviously wasn’t just me because I poured one all out and then had another person start it, and it did the same thing with them. I was beginning to panic because most of the men drink coffee when my sidekick Bree came to my rescue with the Keurig. We just had to make them lots of little cups. Then Nora found a strainer and was able to strain out the grounds. It definitely does take a team, and I’m so thankful for my team!

Thankful my Daddy got to come. I couldn’t have done everything without my Mom’s help.

Love the little kinders lining the hallway and waving the flags.

The ceremony is definitely a tearjerker. The chorus did so good, and taps gets me every time.

So thankful for my sidekick, Bree! We’re a good duo.

After school, I took this girl to get a haircut. She was so excited and got about 3 inches cut off.

We had an easy Friday night and were in bed early. I was exhausted!

Saturday morning, we were up and at em’ early. I was doing things inside the house, and Addison was helping Joey hang some curtains I bought for the outside patio. We are hopeful it might keep some wind out this winter.

That afternoon, we had big plans for this girl.

We didn’t tell her where we were going.

Then we arrived at the Rowan piercing studio at the Avalon. She was excited but very nervous.

My big girl was so brave. We decided on the needle piercing, and she barely flinched.

We walked around some stores. The weather was perfect just a little breezy.

We left there, and I wanted to head to Dillard’s to see if I could find Addison any boots. Holy cow! I don’t think I’ve been in an actual mall in a couple years. It’s surreal and kind of sad.

We went to the Lazy Dog for dinner and had a delicious meal!

We stopped on the way home in downtown Alpharetta to walk around. This party bus was cruising around the streets, and it was cracking us up.

We went to grab some ice cream for bravery. 🙂

Sunday morning, we were up and got ready for church. It was a drizzly, chilly day.

On the way home, we dropped Addison off at Penny’s to hang out for a few hours. Meanwhile, Joey and I went to run some errands. I stopped and grabbed my first Holiday drink of the season!!! Oh, it made me so happy!

When we got home, I put on Hallmark and put up my tree. I’m not ready to decorate it just yet, but I wanted to enjoy the twinkle lights. I also worked on some blogging.

We went and picked Addison up and went to Mom & Dad’s for dinner.

Once we were home, we got showers, fixed lunches, got out school clothes, I finalized this blog post, and did some reading before calling it a night. 🙂

Have a great Monday, friends!

    1. Thank you, Holly! 🙂

  2. Malls are not what they used to be that’s for sure! I still remember getting my ears pierced. So exciting. I absolutely love that your school makes such an effort on Veterans Day. What a wonderful way for kids to learn and appreciate and understand what it’s all about. I’m a sucker for Taps too. Have a happy Monday!

    1. Thank you, Joyce! It’s so crazy how things change.
