*How I Budget* {10.16.2019}

Today I’m sharing a couple different things. How I budget for the upcoming month, and what we are eating this week!

I’ll start out with what we are eating this week!

*******************************************************

Monday: BBQ Chicken Taquitos

Tuesday: Chili (It was cooler and rainy today, so it was perfect)

Wednesday: Leftover Chicken Taquitos

Thursday: Letftover Chili

Friday: I have to work at my school’s Fall Festival, so we will probably grab some Mexican or a pizza when I finish

Being a teacher, I get paid once a month, at the beginning. Joey gets paid every two weeks. I always set our budget towards the end of the month. I base it off of Dave Ramsey’s plan. By using his plan for about 6 years, we have snowballed a lot of debt and saved money.

I do better with physically writing it out. I know some people use Excel spreadsheets, but it’s just better for me to write it out.

Then, I write down all the bills we need to pay, and include any upcoming expenses (like birthday’s, Christmas, etc…)

In the beginning, this took a lot of flexibility because I wasn’t always sure what I would spend, and we were learning it. Now, we do a lot better with estimating our bills.

I simply take what we have to spend then divide it out. If we have anything leftover, it goes towards snowballing any debt or to savings. We keep very little in our actual checking account.

This method has helped us immensely. I don’t overspend, and Joey doesn’t get furious with my shopaholic habits. Haha!

That’s it for today! If you have any questions, you can email me directly. It’s great for trying to reduce your debt and save more!

Here’s some funny pics I got of Addison as I was leaving her with my Mom one day. She’s a mess!

See you back here on Friday for Friday Favorites!!

xoxo
