**Memorial Day Weekend Recap** {6.1.2022}

Hello Wednesday, and my last official day this school year. Today is our last day of post-planning, so I’ve been boxing my classroom up and moving things, and now I’m ready for a few weeks of relaxation.

Today, I’m sharing our last day of school with students and what we did this past weekend.

Here’s my last early morning alarm.

Friday morning, we were up and excited. Here’s a side by side of first day of TK and last day of TK. I can really tell her face has changed. She looks more like an older kid.

Lots of last day pictures.

And here I am with my morning car rider crew on the last day.

The 5th grade walk always gets me emotional. As does the bus send off.

We left school quickly and headed north to go camping for the weekend. We were excited to stay at a new camping resort. My parents also camped and were our neighbors.

Saturday morning, we were up bright and early and enjoying a morning walk.

After breakfast, my Dad and Joey wanted to go check out some antique stores and the local flea market. Not a whole lot was found, but Addison wanted pictures with all the decor. 😉

Here’s a quick picture as we crossed the Nottely Dam.

Addison was on a mission to get back quickly, so she could go swimming. We start swimming lessons today, so we are excited for those with Mrs. B!

That evening, we grilled some fish, had baked potatoes and salad. Then, smores for dessert.

Sunday morning, we had an easy morning and enjoyed another stroll.

Afternoon watermelon time! Have you guys ever had a yellow watermelon? They were my Nanny’s favorite, and I hadn’t had one in probably 20 years. What a sweet memory.

Addison had a lot of water time. She switched back and forth from the creek…..

To the pool. She was loving life!

My sweet friend Katy came over to visit and ate dinner with us. We walked around the park and relaxed by the pond. The campground was so nice, clean and very peaceful. I felt like it was very safe for the kiddos just to roam. It felt like how it used to be when I was growing up.

While we were sitting by the fire pit, this doodle came darting out of a camper without its leash. The owner was chasing it. The dog almost pushed a little boy in the pond and then was trying to attack all the dogs. We were cracking up. It was quite hilarious!

All this was happening while Addison played on the playground. She made lots of new friends.

One last picture of the flag on our camper and Mom & Dads. Thank you to all of those men & women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

We left to come home Monday morning. Then, I had to get ready for 2 days of school/work. Joey, of course, rolls his eyes at this comment because he is still full on working.

That’s all for today’s post. Thank you so much for stopping by! See you on Friday! Hope you’re having a great week!
