Christmas Break Recap Part I {1.6.20}

Happy Monday after Christmas break! And Happy New Year 2020! Can you believe it’s 2020? That just seems amazing to me!! It’s crazy how Y2K was 20 years ago! #feelslikeyesterday

Today, I’m back at school with a Professional Development day. The students start back tomorrow.

My break was glorious! Lots of time spent resting, spending time with family and friends, and just taking time to just be present. It’s always bittersweet going back and getting into the routine.

Here’s a little peek into what we have been up to. I started off the Monday of break with a delicious Starbucks and some shopping before heading to get some pampering at my hair salon.

That night we had Christmas with my parents. We drank and ate off “fancy” Christmas dinnerware, so of course Addison had to have some too. 😉

She loves this little church that plays music.

We ate delicious prime rib, garlic mashed potatoes, steamed veggies and had decadent donuts for dessert. Then it was time for presents… Addison was disappointed as you can tell. #soexcited

We had the best time spending time together.

The next day was Christmas Eve, and we had a lot of gatherings that day. We started off checking the Advent Calendar (which happened to be Addison’s highlight of every day in December).

We made and iced some more cookies for Santa.

Joey and I got Addison a swirly slide from us for Christmas. We wanted her to have a chance to play on it since the weather was nice. So, we gave it to her on Christmas Eve. She said she liked it but was very hesitant about sliding down it. She only slid down it once with Joey.

We got dressed and ready to head off to our first stop for the evening, Joey’s granny’s house. We snapped a few pictures in front of the tree before leaving. #Christmaspose

We headed off. These are the only pictures I got at his Granny’s house. It’s always pretty chaotic with so many people smashed into a small space, but we had a lot of fun and a lot of laughs.

We left there and went on to my Papa’s house. The kids played some ring the Reindeer’s ears game. #hilarious

Here’s some pictures with my sweet Papa.

We headed back home to get ready for Santa to come. We got cookies and milk ready for Santa. Addison opened her Christmas Eve gift of pajamas and a new book. #traditions

Santa came!!!!! She was so excited!! Her favorite thing and the ONLY thing she asked for from Santa was a Vampirina backpack. Thank goodness Santa’s elves were able to find one and it was still in stock. #closecall

We always cook breakfast on Christmas day and all the Grandparents and Great-Grandparents and Aunts/Uncles anyone available are invited to come eat.

Then, we played for a little while around the house. Addison and Joey napped. I read some and just enjoyed the day. We had our last Christmas gathering with Joey’s mom and brothers/sisters that evening.

We started with a dance party with Descendants. 😉

Whew…. that’s it for Part One. Wednesday, I’ll be sharing our menu for this week and part two of our break which includes a little trip and the rest of our break. Have a wonderful day!!

xoxo
