**Weekend Getaway Recap** {1.18.2023}

Hey guys!! Happy Wednesday! Because of the 3 day weekend, I am sharing everything that we did last weekend. We started with a birthday party, a little getaway, a lot of laughs, and a great time with family!

Friday, after school, we had one of Addison’s classmates birthday party’s at Chuck E. Cheese. Oh the kids all just love this place! Happy Birthday, Henry!!

She started with some games.

Then it was pizza and cake time! Plus some singing and dancing fun!

All I can say is that Chuck E. is a lot different from when I was growing up. There used to be a stage and all the characters would come out to sing and dance. Now, there’s no stage and only Chuck E. comes out. Womp Womp.

After dancing, the kids jumped back to the games. One of Addison’s other classmates arrived. She had so much fun playing with her! She was sad to leave.

We left there and Joey and I grabbed some Steak n’ Shake. We were starving!

Saturday morning, we woke up and got ready for some basketball. She had a game at 12:15. We were all loaded up to leave right after to celebrate Joey’s birthday getaway to Pigeon Forge, TN.

We got up there around 5 and headed straight to Local Goat to eat. This place is very hard to get into, so we were excited we only had to wait about 30 minutes.

Dad & Mom went up earlier that day, so they just met us at the restaurant.

A little fried green tomatoes appetizer for the win. And a little patty cake while we waited for the main entrees. While playing and a little tickling, somehow Addison managed to knock out one of her baby teeth. So now, that’s 8 teeth gone. The tooth fairy had to visit the hotel.

Addison was super pumped… right when we got checked in she was ready to head straight to the pool. She swam until almost 10 and loved every minute of it.

Sunday morning, we were up and heading to Sawyer’s pretty early. French toast for me, pancakes for Addison and an omelet for Joey. Delicious!

We left there and headed to the 3 Bears General Store. Every trip we have to go here. It’s a must!

Mom, Addison, and I did some shopping at the outlets for a little while. Dad and Joey hung out in the car.

We worked up an appetite and grabbed some ice cream at the Apple Barn Creamery. It’s a really cute little area.

We went back to the hotel to rest for a little bit. Addison, of course, wanted to play in the pool for a while. I read while she played.

Then we got ready and went to dinner at Cheddars. Me with the almost birthday boy.

That night we had reservations for the Comedy Barn. What a crew.

We were ready to laugh.

And laugh we did…. there were times I was crying I was laughing so hard. It really is a great family show for everyone.

The town is still semi decorated in Christmas lights. I snapped this picture on the way back to the hotel.

Monday we had to head back home and to reality. This was Joey’s actual birthday.

We grabbed some breakfast at the Red Rooster. Then Dad & Mom left to head back home after breakfast.

Addison still hadn’t spent her tooth fairy money. So, she wanted to make sure to spend that before we left, so we headed to the Island. She wanted to do a photo at every photo prob with her Daddy on his birthday.

She finally settled on spending her money to ride some rides. She even had $2 leftover to go in her piggy bank.

And one more picture of the fountain, during the water show.

The mountains still had some snow on them in the distance.

Happy 40th Birthday to Joey!! We love you so much and are so thankful for you! You put others before yourself in everything you do. Can’t wait for more adventures together!

Before you go, I wanted to let you know that Colleen Rothschild is having their 9 year Anniversary. Everything on their site is 25% off! This is huge!! Shop all their bestsellers here

That sounds like a wonderful weekend away! I remember Chuck E Cheese from when we were kids; we didn’t have one near us so we visited each time we went to North Carolina to see my aunt and her family. I really enjoyed the animatronic show and ski ball.
