**Disney Vacation~ Days 1 & 2** {3.1.2023}

Well Hello March. I can’t believe you’re here already.

Last week, we were out of school for our Winter Break.

On Friday, February 17th, we left about 8:00 at night to drive halfway to Orlando, Florida.  We were traveling with our fifth wheel camper and were staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

Our plans were shifted a little bit. I was not feeling very well and had a slight fever with chills and aches. I just kept taking Ibuprofen hoping it would go away. And, about 1:30 in the morning, one of our camper tires blew out. So, that wasn’t fun “helping” Joey change our tire on the side of I-75.

Anyhow, we slept for a little bit and drove on down Saturday. We arrived to the park about 1:00. By the time we got there, I was really out of it. My fever continued to go up, and I was feeling a little lethargic. Joey was worried about me, so we headed to Urgent Care. Unfortunately, I tested positive for Flu A. 🙁

Joey and Addison were great and just let me sleep. They set everything up and went and picked up our golf cart rental.

I continued to sleep and ended up sweating profusely. Which I guess was a good thing because I woke up the next morning, fever free! And I felt some better just very weak.

I wasn’t going to let a park day go to waste, so we were up early and headed to Animal Kingdom.

We met Joey’s family there. They stayed at a different Disney resort.

We rope dropped and headed straight for Pandora Flight of Passage.

Love walking up to see the Great Tree.

These two cuties were so excited to be tall enough to ride. They were a little nervous, but after the ride, they said it was the best thing ever! Ha!

We left FOP and went right next door to Navi River.

We didn’t really care about doing and seeing lots of things at AK, but we did want to see the Nemo show. It’s always a favorite!

After the show, we headed to grab BBQ at Quick Service, Flame Tree BBQ. It’s always reliable.

After some lunch, we headed to the Safari. It had a looooong wait. The thing about this week, it was crazy busy! Everyday the parks were at full capacity, and Genie + sold out!

I always snag Memory Maker for the group, and it’s always the best! I always cherish all these pictures.

And with the Great Tree!

We park hopped over to Hollywood Studios when we could. However, by this time Genie + was all sold out for the day. 🙁

So, long lines were everywhere!

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway had been shut down, and we just happened to be close by when it opened back up. So, we were able to hop on with just about a 45 minute wait.

We headed to Toy Story Land and saw Woody & Jessie.

We wanted to ride Slinky dog, but we didn’t have enough time before our dinner reservations.

So, we opted for Alien Swirling Saucers instead. I rode with Adalynn. Joey rode with Addison.

Mickey Ears

We had dinner reservations at Mama’s Melrose at HS. We all got flatbread pizzas, and they were delicious. All the Italian plates looked amazing too, we just didn’t want that much to eat. Of course, I forgot to snap any pictures in there.

By this time, Joey was starting to feel bad. So, we were going to stay and ride some more rides, but we opted to go home and get some rest.

Monday was an off park day. Addison and I still woke up fever free. Joey, however, was down for the count. He had finally got our sickness. 🙁

We had breakfast reservations at O’Hana. So, Addison and I hopped on the ferry boat to MK to meet up with the rest of the crew. Then, we hopped on the monorail to the Polynesian. It was a gorgeous morning!

O’Hana is always one of my favorite things! I love the characters and the interactions. I love the atmosphere! It’s just all around fun!

Snitch snuck up and scared Penny. He was quite the hilarious little character. The girls both said Snitch was their favorite.

A quick picture before boarding back on the monorail.

We decided to make a stop at the Grand Floridian. It is always so beautiful!

While we were there, a photographer had a cute, little setup with Cinderella’s glass slipper. We thought, why not.

We left the Grand Floridian to head back and check on Joey. He was still out of it. We gave him some more meds, made sure he was fed and hydrated. Then headed to the pool for a bit. We knew the girls would love some swim time, and I was looking forward to a little bit of tanning time.

After we swam for a bit we headed to Disney Springs. We had reservations at Raglan Road Irish Pub. It’s always a favorite spot!

Addison enjoyed her new purchase the Ariel bubble wand.

That’s it for days 1 & 2 at Disney. I’ll continue sharing more probably next week. Have a great day!
