**What’s Up Wednesday** {1.28.2026}

what's up wednesday new graphic

Hey Friends!! We are trying to thaw out a bit here in the south. We aren’t used to all this frigid nonsense. It’s the last Wednesday of the month. I am linking up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer and sharing what has been going on with us lately. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

1. What We Are Eating This Week:

Sunday: Pork Chops, Rice, Sweet Potatoes, Brussels Sprouts

Monday: Chicken Tortilla Soup

Tuesday: Crockpot Chili with Hotdogs

Wednesday: Leftover Pork Chops

Thursday: Leftover Chicken Tortilla soup

Friday: Pizza

Saturday: Kitchen’s closed!

2. What I’m Reminiscing About:

I love looking back at the cozy, Winter days.

We have loved celebrating Joey’s birthday through the years.

We celebrated his 40th birthday in 2023 in the mountains.

We went to see Reba in 2021!

We have enjoyed some wintry weather days over the years this month.

Here’s some flashbacks to basketball seasons.

Here’s adoption day for Milo in 2024. He was so little.

Last year, we celebrated Shannon’s 40th!

3. What I’m Loving:

We are all loving the Lifepro Vibration plate. We have been taking turns on it.

4. What We’ve Been Up To:

The beginning of January, we all headed to Nashville. I shared Part I of our trip here.

We have enjoyed some shopping…..

and cozy, lazy days too!

We have visited with family and very special loved ones.

We celebrated Joey’s birthday!

We also celebrated Isla’s birthday at the ice skating rink.

Addison had a sleepover with Adalynn. Lots of laughing occurred.

5. What I’m Dreading:

I’m not really dreading anything right now. 😉  Just go away cold weather!

6. What I’m Working On:

I’m working on planning some upcoming vacations and this blog post.

7. What I’m Excited About:

I am excited about fun things we have planned next month.

8. What I’m Watching/Reading:

I finished One Day in December, and it was adorable! This is the perfect book to read in the Winter. Even though it has December in the title, it’s not really Christmas-y. If you’re looking for a feel-good, cozy book, this is it!

Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn’t exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there’s a moment of pure magic . . . and then her bus drives away.

Certain they’re fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn’t find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they “reunite” at a Christmas party, when her best friend, Sarah, giddily introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. It’s Jack, the man from the bus. It would be.

What follows for Laurie, Sarah, and Jack is ten years of friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, roads not taken, and destinies reconsidered. One Day in December is a joyous, heartwarming, and immensely moving love story to escape into and a reminder that fate takes inexplicable turns along the route to happiness.

I was so excited when I heard they were making a movie out of People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry. I read this book way back in 2023, and I adored it! I really enjoyed the movie, but I almost wish it was more of a TV-series, so they could stop in all the different places each episode. They left out some of the vacations doing it as a movie. It was still very cute though.

Have you guys watched His & Hers on Netflix? It is just Wow! So many twists and turns! And I love that it takes place in my college town, Dahlonega.

I finally finished the latest season of Emily in Paris. Loved it just as much as the other seasons!

9. What I’m Listening To:

Not a thing at the moment.

10. What I’m Wearing:

This Button-up Pullover is still being worn in normal rotation around here. So easy to just throw on and go.

I’ve been wearing this Aerie Candy Crew Sweater on repeat. It so soft and perfect for these cold winter days.

Chelsea Boots

Jan 13 8

I’ve been wearing my  New Balance 327 on repeat. They’re comfy and provide arch support. I love how the foot bed is a little wider, so it allows my toes to move and not feel restricted.

Still wearing my Ugg Coquette Slippers on repeat in the house. Once I’m home, I immediately slip off my shoes and into these.

11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:

We have a dance show to watch. Adalynn is performing. Not sure what else we will get into.

12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:

Another trip, celebrating Valentine’s Day, and enjoying our Winter break!

13. Favorite Amazon Find:

This is quite the combo, but they are both favorite purchases this month!

Cozy Faux Fur blanket   /  Nose Trimmer

14. What Else Is New:

If you made it this far, thank you!

Thank you all for reading. I hope you have an awesome day!! See you back here on Friday!
