Hello Everyone! Happy Wednesday!! It’s another vacation recap day. I’m starting to round them down. If you missed my other recaps, be sure to start there.
Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse & Cody, Wyoming Glacier National Park
After leaving Jackson, WY, we headed South and west into Idaho and on to our final stop at Bear Lake, UT.
This lake is hard to see from the road. There was not a lot of lakefront public areas to drive out to the lake.
Bear Lake is known as the Caribbean of the Rockies. The water is a beautiful turquoise color.
We stayed at the KOA, and it was a cute little place. Addison loved partaking in all the on site amenities.
We enjoyed walking around. This adorable Ranch set up was right behind us. You could stay in a tent or covered wagon. So cute!
The next morning, we were up fairly early. We drove down to try to find a public area to actually reach the lake. It wasn’t so nice… oh well. We tried.
And then we were leaving and heading South.
I snapped some pics as we climbed the mountains of the lake. I’m really glad we were able to make the trip to see this area. It wasn’t originally on the itinerary.
I snapped some pics as we drove through Logan and Ogden, Utah.
As we drove through, we passed an In N’ Out. It made me very excited.
We drove on into Salt Lake City. We passed by the Mormon Tabernacle. They were doing construction, so it was surrounded by scaffolds and construction workers.
I told Joey another place I wanted to stop was at the Food Nanny store in SLC. Do you know who this is? My bestie Caroline is a HUGE fan, and so I wanted to make sure I checked them out. You know… when in Rome. Haha!
Of course I left with some goodies.
Let me know if you know what I’m talking about. I enjoy cooking bread with their flour.
We traveled on all the way to Moab, Utah to visit Arches National Park. The last time I was here, I was 11, so it was still exciting for me to visit again.
We only had about 2 hours to drive around and explore because we wanted to make it so far that night to sleep.
All the rock sculptures are fascinating.
And it was very HOT.
Plus there was a wildfire about 15 miles away, so that had me a little on edge. You could definitely smell the smoke, and the sky in one direction was dark and smoky.

We left there and traveled on toward Colorado. We ate dinner near Fruita, CO at Strayhorn Grill. The meal was great. It was very smoky there and ash was even flying through the air. After dinner, we drove on to Glenwood Springs, CO to stay for the night.
And that is all for this recap day.
See you on Friday!
