Summer Vacation

**Westward Trip Part V- Yellowstone & Jackson Hole**{8.12.2026}

Hello Everyone! Happy Wednesday!! It’s another post recap day. Sorry these are taking forever to get through… there was so much to see and document!  If you missed my other recaps, be sure to start there.

Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse & Cody, Wyoming Glacier National Park

West Yellowstone, ID

Yellowstone South Loop

Today, I’m picking right up with doing the North Loop in Yellowstone National Park. The weather was not quite as rainy, but a little snowy and some sleet.

We drove by some geysers, and I snapped some pics of the steam coming up.

We saw a lot of animals on this day.

We drove into the Mammoth area. The mountains were so pretty with all the markings.

We came upon a little black bear. You can barely see it. Believe me, I was zoomed in a lot. It was far off.

More bison.

We drove out to Lamar valley where there were a lot more animals. Like this grizzly bear.

And some more bald eagles.

We snapped some pictures of the Yellowstone River.

Beautiful flatlands for the bison.

And another grizzly.

We stopped at the Tower Falls area and walked out to the Tower Falls overlook.

We saw a black bear right off the side of the road.

I snapped some pics of Yellowstone lake. It was cold… you can see snows on the mountain tops off in the distance.

And then we were on our way to exit the park out the south entrance.

The sign on this side of the park was a lot dryer than the one on the west side, so we got some pictures with all of us.

We were headed straight into Grand Teton National Park.

And some more pictures entering into the Grand Teton side.

We passed by the beautiful Jackson lake.

I am so glad we stopped by the Mormon Row area.

These mountains were I think the prettiest mountains I’ve ever seen.

They looked like a postcard.

And this barn is very famous. So, we had to get lots of pictures. lol

I just loved it with the mountains in the background.

Jackson’s airport is right by the road. The planes fly down right by the mountains. I’m sure they had a beautiful view coming in to land.

Another sign.

Then we made our way on into Jackson.

The town was booming.

We had to take lots of pictures at the famous arch. I called Mom while we were there, and she was able to see us on camera. So funny.

We ate dinner at the Silver Dollar Bar & Grill. We enjoyed our meal.

After dinner, we walked around and in most of the shops. We got some shirts and other souvenirs. It’s a very touristy but fun town.

And that wraps up this day…..

See ya back on Friday, friends!
