Hello Everyone! Happy Wednesday!! It’s another vacation recap day. If you missed my other recaps, be sure to start there.
Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse & Cody, Wyoming Glacier National Park
We headed out from Jackson about 6:00 and headed to grab some coffee at the cute and popular Cowboy Coffee.
Unfortunately, it was another yucky weather day. We were headed to do some exploring at Teton National Park. On the way, we spotted some Elk.
On our right, we could see the sun rise.
And, on our left were the gorgeous Tetons. However, the clouds were making the views not as beautiful.
We wanted to get to Jenny Lake early to grab a boat across. We had heard that if you don’t get there early, you could be waiting a long time.
We were one of the first groups to board. Addison was lucky enough to squeeze under the awning. It was very cold, windy, and sleeting rain. It was pretty miserable crossing the lake. I’m not going to lie.
We disembarked on the other side and starting hiking/walking up the trails. The trails were a little rugged, but definitely not bad. The views were still beautiful even with the yucky weather.
We walked on to Hidden Falls.
We continued our way up toward Inspiration point. Because of the rain/sleet, I didn’t really want to continue on up any higher. We stopped at this overview to snap some pictures of Jenny Lake.
Here we all are like cold, drowned rats. lol
We headed back down toward the boat on a different trail.
They do reiterate that there is no bathroom on this side of the lake.
It’s hard to tell in the photo because it’s a cloudy day, but the lake was very clear. You could see the bottom.
Once back on the other side, we went inside the store to get warmed up and grabbed some hot cocoa.
We took off driving to do some more exploring. We found another overlook spot of the lake.
We kept driving down side roads as we drove around the park. We found this nice overlook.
And spotted an Elk grazing on the side of the road.
We crossed over the Jackson lake dam.
We drove by the Jackson Lake lodge.
We stopped in another shop. Addison was goofing around.
And, on our way back down toward Jackson, we stopped at Dornans to eat a late lunch. On a clear day, the mountains are in the background and star of the show. But, you know, clouds for us.
This place was crazy crowded.
We had a delicious lunch and headed out and south toward Utah.
See you guys back on Friday!

What a great trip, although it’s a bummer about the weather! I was thinking about doing an Out West trip during our Christmas break but the weather is my biggest concern!
