Christmas Vacation

**Nashville Weekend Getaway Part II** {2.4.2026}

Hey Friends!! Happy Wednesday!! Today I’m sharing Part 2 of our Nashville weekend getaway. Now that I’m wrapping up these vacation posts, I feel like it’s about time to head out on another trip!

If you missed part I, start reading it here.

Today’s post is long. It really is crazy how much we packed into a day. We did all this on Saturday. We got ready and headed to the Gaylord Opryland Resort. We had reservations for the ICE exhibit!

They always set up a little village outside and have lots of games and activities to do.

But, we had reservations, so we headed on inside to get all prepared.

If you’ve never been to see the Ice exhibit, you should go. But, be warned! It is frigid! They keep the temperature at 9 degrees. They give everyone a parka, which is so trendy haha, but even with gloves my hands were hurting bad.

All the different colors and details amaze me! This is my second time seeing it, and I loved it just the same. It’s about a 15-20 minute walk through. Honestly, you really don’t want to stay inside any longer. It’s brutal!

Addison really enjoyed it and especially loved going down the ice slide a couple times.

There was a guy in there at the time carving some ice sculptures as we went through. It really is amazing at the details.

The last room is definitely my favorite! So beautiful!

After exiting, and trying to slowly thaw out. We grabbed some hot cocoa and Addison wanted to head to the game area. She was all about the bumper cars!

Her determination and will power to ram people was hilarious and alarming. Hahaha!

After a few rounds, we headed on inside the beautiful resort! I’m so glad it was still decorated for Christmas!

She was definitely enjoying herself.

After we felt like we had spent enough time there, we headed back to the hotel to get dressed and rest a few minutes before we headed to dinner.

We had reservations at Bricktop’s downtown. We all enjoyed our meal!

Then we had a nice walk through downtown to the Ryman.

Thankfully the weather this whole trip wasn’t really cold. It was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for it any better in January.

We were able to snap a few pics before going inside.

We had to wait in line a few minutes before getting inside. We were definitely okay with it because….

while standing in line, Vince Gill pulled in right beside where we were standing and walked in. He was so nice waving and greeting everyone.

We made it inside. It was definitely packed.

We snapped a few pics before the show began.

There were a lot of amazing artists performing this night.

We enjoyed the Opry Square Dancers.

The first official performance was by Dailey & Vincent. They were great! Had beautiful voices. Definitely in the Bluegrass and Gospel category.

Then Connie Smith came on. She’s a legend Opry Member.

Josh Ross performed next. He’s apparently really famous in Canada! I knew a lot of his songs and enjoyed his fun energy!

Steve Earle is definitely legendary, and he received standing ovation!

I didn’t get a picture of Wendy Moten, but she did amazing! Had a beautiful voice!

Nate Smith hit the stage, and he was so fun! I love all his songs! He definitely brought the energy!

We got to witness a proposal! So exciting!

We had a short intermission where we snapped some pics. So exciting that Mom & Dad got to come along with us!

The final performance was by the legendary Vince Gill!! Oh his voice is so beautiful! I had tears in my eyes when he sang “Go Rest High on that Mountain” and spoke of with losing his brother recently. He truly is a legend!! Great guy!

We got back to the hotel about 11. The next morning, we packed up and headed home.

What a short, fun-filled trip! We all had a blast and can’t wait to go back again soon!

Thanks for stopping by!
