**Spring Break Vacation to Gulf Shores** {4.17.2024}
Happy Wednesday Everybody!! How’s your week going? I feel like I’m crawling to Friday. Haha!
Today, I’m sharing a recap of our Spring Break. We traveled to Gulf Shores, Alabama. I hadn’t been there in many, many years- college. So, it was good to go back. Today’s post is long. I’m trying to fit it all in one post. 🙂
When we made Spring Break plans a year ago, we didn’t realize it also correlated with Easter. It doesn’t always. Well, it did this year, and we just went with it. We knew our holiday would look a lot different than normal, but we were okay with it.
We left on Saturday morning and headed South. Once we arrived, and were all set up, we just relaxed a bit.
We did go grab a bite to eat that night at Acme Oyster House.
Sunday, the Easter Bunny had everything ready to go.
Addison was over the moon excited when she woke up. Of course we always re-iterate that Easter is not really about a bunny, it’s about our Savior and that he died for us.
Mom & Dad had also sent a golden egg that we were to open.
Addison took her new bike for a spin. This was a big gift than we typically do. However, she needed a bigger bike- she’s tall. Her birthday isn’t until November, so we just went with it. She was hesitant with the larger bike, but once she started, she loved it.
I cooked eggs and grits inside. Joey cooked bacon, oursite, on the Blackstone.
And, must have coffee! Keurig k-mini go
After breakfast, we headed to the beach. The ocean was absolutely freezing, but it obviously didn’t prevent Addison from getting in.
The weather was perfect, and we got a little too much sun. Woops!
We really tried to enjoy our time and day. After the beach, we headed to the pool for a bit. It was Addison’s perfect day.
I heated up/cooked some things, and we enjoyed our Easter meal at the camper. I had some slices from HoneyBaked Ham, broccoli/rice casserole, macaroni & cheese, corn salad, and chocolate eclair cake.
After dinner, we headed to the beach, to enjoy an Easter egg hunt.
We drove to a little bit of deserted beach, where there weren’t many houses, and it was so interesting…. way out in the water, there were so many oil rigs. You can barely see them in my picture.
Sunday, we were all pretty crispy from the sun. We decided to head to Gulf State Park and ride on their many bike trails. They’re amazing, and it’s all so beautiful. We enjoyed the ride.
After riding, Addison begged to go to the park. So, I snapped a few pics while she was there. Of course she met a friend to play with.
We went back to camp. I took Addison to the pool for a bit before we got ready for dinner. This night we ate at the Original Oyster House. We enjoyed it!
After our meal, we needed something a little sweet. Haha! We are on vacation.
Then, we headed to play some putt putt. Another favorite thing to do on vacation.
Tuesday, we woke up to cooler temps and not a lot of sun. We did end up going to the beach for a bit. I stayed wrapped up. It was chilly.
That evening, we drove around to explore a little. I snapped this picture of the Wharf- shopping area.
We grabbed burgers at the Cove Bar & Grill that night. Then we headed back to camp and relaxed.
I read Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren during the break, and it was so good!!! It reminded me a lot of Every Summer After.
Wednesday, we woke up to even cooler temperatures. We were close, like less than an hour, from Pensacola, which has the Naval base where the Blue Angels do practice runs. On Wednesday, weather permitting, they have a show. Traffic was really bad, so we didn’t make it into the actual base, but we sat right outside, and it was still so awesome! So scary, but so amazing too! We really enjoyed it!
The weather turned out beautiful, by the time we headed back. Addison and I went to the pool for a bit. Then we got dressed and went to DeSoto’s for dinner. It’s a legend and has been there for years.
We headed to get ice cream again after. It’s a homemade place, so it’s so good!
Thursday, was our last full day, so we wanted to make the most of it at the beach. The weather was gorgeous!
We just had fun relaxing and playing on the beach most of the day.
Thursday night, we went to get pizza at Crico’s Pizza & Subs, and it was delicious!
After eating, we walked around in some shops. Addison wanted a pic in the pirate ship. 😉
Friday morning, we had to head back home. We did make another stop at Buccee’s which is always a treat.
If you missed my post on how we prep for camping, read it here.
Thanks for stopping by! See ya on Friday!

That looks wonderful! I have never been to Alabama but I heard so much about how lovely it is all last weekend and now I kind of can’t wait to check it out. Easter at the beach sounds lovely and it looks like you had quite a few days with nice weather.
