**What’s up Wednesday** {4.24.2024}
It’s the last Wednesday of the month. I am linking up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer and sharing what has been going on with us lately. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what we’re watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post. 🙂
1. What We Are Eating This Week:
Sunday: Pork Loin, Peas n’ Snaps, Mashed Potatoes, Fried Okra
Monday: Creamy Chicken Pasta with Corn & Bacon
Tuesday: Steak Kebabs with Rice and Brussels’ Sprouts
Wednesday: Leftover Pork Loin
Thursday: Leftover Pasta
Friday: Leftover Kebabs
Saturday: Kitchen’s closed!
2. What I’m Reminiscing About:
I’m reminiscing over all the Easter memories.
These were from 2019.
In 2020, we did a lot of outdoor activities and parks while everything was shutdown.
Here we are in 2021.
And then in 2022 when Addison had broken her leg in gymnastics, and we rolled her everywhere at the beach.
3. What I’m Loving:
4. What We’ve Been Up To:
We started the month on our Spring Break trip, where we all got a little burnt and indulged in too much ice cream. If you missed our trip recap, you can read all about it here.
Addison and I went with our girlfriends to the Fox to see Disney Princesses in Concert. We had the best time!
I went on a field trip with Addison, and one of my besties went with her son. So fun getting to spend time with her and make more memories.
And we are still busy with soccer.
5. What I’m Dreading:
The only thing I am dreading is all the end of the year craziness… but really, it’s already here, so that’s ok.
6. What I’m Working On:
I’m working on all kinds of things… spreadsheets, scheduling, End of Year Testing, blogging… I feel like I have a hundred tabs open in my brain.
7. What I’m Excited About:
I am really excited about warmer weather and summer coming soon!
8. What I’m Watching/Reading:
I read Love and Other Words while I was at the beach… I really enjoyed it! It’s very similar to Every Summer After. Have you guys read it? I love Christina Lauren books. Here’s what Amazon has to say:
After a decade apart, childhood sweethearts reconnect by chance in New York Times bestselling author Christina Lauren’s touching, romantic novel Love and Other Words…how many words will it take for them to figure out where it all went wrong?
The story of the heart can never be unwritten.
Macy Sorensen is settling into an ambitious if emotionally tepid routine: work hard as a new pediatrics resident, plan her wedding to an older, financially secure man, keep her head down and heart tucked away.
But when she runs into Elliot Petropoulos—the first and only love of her life—the careful bubble she’s constructed begins to dissolve. Once upon a time, Elliot was Macy’s entire world—growing from her gangly bookish friend into the man who coaxed her heart open again after the loss of her mother…only to break it on the very night he declared his love for her.
Told in alternating timelines between Then and Now, teenage Elliot and Macy grow from friends to much more—spending weekends and lazy summers together in a house outside of San Francisco devouring books, sharing favorite words, and talking through their growing pains and triumphs. As adults, they have become strangers to one another until their chance reunion. Although their memories are obscured by the agony of what happened that night so many years ago, Elliot will come to understand the truth behind Macy’s decade-long silence, and will have to overcome the past and himself to revive her faith in the possibility of an all-consuming love.
I am currently reading In the Likely Event, and it’s really good… I wish I had more time to read. At night, I’m so braindead right now I’m only able to read about 2 pages before I fall asleep. I know one day I’ll get back to it.
Here’s what Amazon has to say:
From the instant New York Times bestselling author of Fourth Wing, Rebecca Yarros, comes a sweeping romance about the sustained power of chance encounters.
When Izzy Astor gets on a plane to go home, she isn’t expecting much. It’s the usual holiday travel experience: busy, crowded, stressful.
Then she spots her seatmate, who is anything but ordinary. Nate Phelan sports dark hair, blue eyes, and a deliciously rugged charm that Izzy can’t resist. Their connection is undeniable. Izzy never believed in destiny before, but she does now.
Just ninety seconds after takeoff, their plane goes down in the Missouri River.
Their lives change. They change. Nate goes on to a career in the military while Izzy finds her way into politics. Despite a few chance encounters over the years, the timing never feels right.
Then comes a high-stakes reunion in Afghanistan, where Nate is tasked with protecting Izzy’s life.
He’ll do anything to keep her safe. And everything to win her heart.
I’m not really watching anything specifically… I do want to watch Apples Never Fall on Peacock, but I haven’t had the chance to actually sit down and start. Have you guys seen it? I know it’s based on the book.
9. What I’m Listening To:
Nothing at the moment.
10. What I’m Wearing:
I’ve still been wearing my Nike Court Legacy Shoes. These are so cute, comfy, and great to wear to school.
With the crazy weather and never knowing what the temperature’s are going to be day to day, my wardrobe is not very consistent. I’m continuing to wear a lot of Jules & James Boutique items.
11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:
This weekend we have soccer on Saturday. Sunday, we have church then lunch after church. After that, I have to get Addison to dance pictures.
12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:
I’m excited about a camping trip next month.
13. Favorite Amazon Find:
These are two random items that I’ve ordered from Amazon lately, and they’ve been favorites.
14. What Else Is New:
Nothing else. 🙂
Thank you all for stopping by! I hope you’re having a wonderful week so far! See ya on Friday!
