**Top Five, Bottom Five: Thanksgiving Meal** {11.20.2024}

Today I’m taking a cue from Shay at MixandMatchMama and doing a fun, little Top Five Bottom Five!

Today, since Turkey day is next week, I’m highlighting the Thanksgiving Meal.

I’m sure some people will shudder at my results. You’ll notice, I have no meat on it…

Here goes my…..

1. Mac n’ Cheese

Now I’m very particular about my Macaroni n’ cheese. I don’t care for the Kraft or really even the Velveeta… I want a Homemade, extra creamy, extra cheesy good noodle. I make a Roux for mine and it’s divine to me.

2. Hashbrown Casserole or in other forms, Funeral Potatoes

This is also a must, and I thoroughly enjoy making it. It’s easy to make and everyone compliments it and asks for the recipe. That’s a win for me!

3. Broccoli Salad

I know this is a weird choice, but with all the heavy casseroles and creaminess, I do enjoy this broccoli salad to mix it up.

4. Caramel Apple Cake

Oh, I enjoy this yummy dessert during the Fall. I’m not going to lie, it’s not healthy AT ALL, but it’s so delicious and even better when it’s warm.

5. Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake

This is a recipe that was passed down and passed along, and is always a huge hit! I enjoy this one warm as well, and it’s extra gooey. I have never shared this recipe, so I will add that to my to-blog list.

And now for the other end of the meal choices… Here are my….

1. Green Bean Casserole

Ewww… yuck! Gross… I don’t like the creamy cream of blah in this with beans. I like my green beans boiled to death so it looks like leather and cooked with bacon and salt. Haha! None of the casserole for me.

2. Anything Pumpkin

I don’t want anything with spice or pumpkin. No pie, cake, roll… nothing pumpkin.

3. Banana Pudding

This is a biggie at my family gatherings, but I don’t care for it one bit. The bananas are warm, and I don’t want the pudding. I’ll just take the vanilla wafers by themselves.

4. Dressing

It’s not that I won’t eat the dressing… I mean it’s Thanksgiving, I will eat a spoonful, but I don’t care for it. I could leave it, and I wouldn’t be sad. My family makes it with chicken, chicken broth, spices, and cornbread/biscuits. So, it’s not even turkey… I just don’t care to have it.

5. Cole Slaw

Again, this is something I will eat, but I don’t just crave it. I will pass by it without getting any, and I’m not sad about it.

So there you have my list….

Now, I asked Joey as well. Here is his list. Which as you can see is much different than mine.

Top Five:

1. Chocolate Éclair Cake – (To be more specific, my Mom’s éclair cake. It’s his favorite. I don’t really care for it, but most people love it).

2. Ham

3. Deviled Eggs

4. Turkey

5. Dressing

Bottom Five:

He didn’t have much to say here…

1. Anything cold with fruit and syrup

2. Cranberry Salad

3. Cole Slaw

That’s all he had to say… can you sense a trend? He doesn’t like fruit cold in any way.

And… I thought these 2 memes were fitting. 😉

Do you agree or disagree? Leave comments… I can’t wait to read them!

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!
