**Hello Monday** {1.6.2025}

Hello!! And just like that our winter break is over, and we are in 2025! We had a wonderful break packed full with so much fun! My plan is to share all about our adventures in a later post.

Like the norm, I’m linking up with Holly and Sarah for Hello Monday and sharing a recap of our weekend, er last part of our break. 🙂

If you don’t take a fireworks picture, did it even happen? Haha!

We went to the movies on NYE and watched the new Mufasa movie. It was good, but I still prefer the OG- Lion King.

Mom & Dad came over for hot dogs and snacky food. Then we shot off some fireworks and played some games.

Milo and Addison were struggling to make it to midnight. If I’m honest, we all were. 😉

I did snap a few pics ringing in the New Year.

I had to play around with some filters.

On New Year’s Day, we had a pretty relaxing morning.

Mom cooked the traditional New Year’s meal- pork, collard greens, peas, corn bread, potatoes/carrots. I made some mac n’ cheese. Do you all enjoy a special meal to ring in the new year?

And then… on the 2nd day of the new year, I decided to bake… I attempted to bake chocolate chip cookies. At least they tasted good. Haha!

I also baked some sandwich bread. My first time, and it turned out pretty good. I was proud of myself.

On Friday, Addison and I decided to head to town. She had a Claire’s gift card that was burning a hole for her to spend.

We also stopped by the bookstore and picked up a new 2025 wall calendar, and I grabbed a new book to read.

This was Joey’s position most of the weekend. He was down for the count. Everything was negative, and the doc said it was just viral. But it definitely didn’t have him feeling well at all.

Addison decided to put almost all her stuffies on her bed. I asked her where she was planning to sleep.

Saturday, Mom and I went to a family friend’s visitation. A very sad time for this sweet family that I grew up with.

After, it was a chilly day, and we walked around and shopped in some of the downtown shops.

Saturday afternoon, we went to visit with my Papa.

That evening, Joey was feeling some better and wanted to get out. We went to grab Mexican food. I just love the chicken soup on a chilly day. And, we all love queso.

Sunday, we had a slow morning. Yesterday afternoon, we had another family childhood friends mother’s visitation at the funeral home. It’s always sad that this is the place we see people we haven’t seen in many years.

On the way home, we made a Costco run. I was excited to pick up a chicken pot pie to cook sometime. They are always easy and good.

Joey and I love watching any mystery show- Dateline, 20/20, 48 hours… I saw this funny on the internet. It’s so true! Anyone they ever interview always describes the person as a ‘ray of sunshine’.

Today I have a Teacher work day. Addison headed to spend the night with Joey’s dad last night since we both are working. I can’t believe we are already back to it.

I hope you guys have a great start to your week!
