**Spring Break Recap ~Destin, FL** {4.23.2025}
Hey Friends!! How’s your Wednesday going? It’s busy season around here with state testing going on, but today I’m recapping our Spring Break trip to Destin, Florida.
We arrived to Destin West RV Resort on Saturday afternoon and got set up. The main resort was right across the street, and we could use all their amenities.

Once we got backed in and semi set up, Addison was off to check out the bay with Milo.

She wanted to do lots of posing.

Addison got this scooter about a year ago, for her birthday. She has not been brave enough to take off on it. We took this opportunity to try it again since we had flat, smooth ground. She was a little wobbly at first then took off like a pro. Then, it was hard to get her to quit.

We ate at Lost Pizza Co. in Fort Walton Beach. It was decorated very super cute, and the food was great!

She begged and begged to get back and go to the pool. I was chilly, so I sat out in leggings. It of course wasn’t bothering her.

We crashed early since we had an early travel day.
Sunday morning, since our home time zone was different, we were up super early for the time there.
Joey was busy being chef.

We decided to make our way over to the main resort to check out all the amenities. The weather was gloomy and there were supposed to be Thunderstorms that day.

After walking around a bit, we headed back over and hopped on the bikes for some riding along the trails.

Then the rain and storms arrived around 11.
Milo wanted to snuggle on the bed.

Since it was supposed to rain for a while, we decided to head to the movies to see Snow White. Addi wanted to take pics with all the cutouts.

The theater is at the Destin Commons area, so after the movie, we headed into some shops one being Bass Pro Shop.

After some shopping, we had worked up another appetite. We headed to the Back Porch for dinner. It would have been a little more enjoyable if it wasn’t so windy and cool.

We tried to enjoy sitting on the porch. We did enjoy the ocean view.

Joey was being Mr. Funny guy saying he was going to go ask for money, after dinner, to help pay for this trip. Hahaha!
Yea yea….inflation hits the restaurants hard too.

Monday was unfortunately another gloomy, yucky weather day. However, it hadn’t started raining that morning, so we headed to the beach for a morning walk.

Once the rain arrived, we headed to the outlets to search for Mom some sandals for her birthday.
We also went to some surf shops and got Addison a new beach chair.

Before heading back to the resort, we stopped by Maguire’s Irish pub for dinner.

When we got back to camp, the rain had stopped. We made some smores on the fire pit.

Tuesday came, and we were thankful for clear skies and sunshine!!
The water literally felt like ice, but it did not stop our girl.

Addison met a friend, and they were cute together.

We stayed in the sun a long time, and we got a little too much. I was toasty.
We headed over to Okaloosa Island and ate at Stewby’s for dinner. It had a fun vibe.

Of course, we must have ice cream on vacation.

After dinner and ice cream, we headed to play some mini golf.

Wednesday was our last day. It started out really foggy and cloudy that morning but then all that rolled out to reveal another very bright, sunny day.
Most of us were still feeling the burn from the previous day. Addison had burns at her bathing suit line, so the salt water and sand was making that hurt.
She played in the sand for a bit.

Then sweet talked us into heading to the resort pool.
I kept rotating between the sun and shade. I was definitely crispy.

We didn’t stay out too long because we didn’t want to be in too much sunburn pain.
We headed to Fudpuckers for dinner where we got to see all the alligators.

And there were lots of them and everywhere. Eeeek!
Gator tail is on the menu. I guess they grow them, and then cook them.

It’s hard to see, but the bridge to head from Destin back over to Destin west had lots of sailboats.

Thursday morning, we were up early to head back home.
We made another pit stop at Buc-ees of course!

We got home around 5:30 due to lovely Atlanta traffic. If you’ve ever drive through the ATL, you know rush hour is anytime, anywhere.
See you guys on Friday!
