It’s the last Wednesday of the month. On this day, I link up with Mix and Match MamaandSheaffer. I will share a little bit of everything that’s been going on with us right now.
1. What We Are Eating This Week:
So, coming off of 2 weeks of really bad food and tons of eating out, I am hoping for a little bit better meal choices and more vegetables. We will see. 😉
Sunday: Refrigerator clean out from vacation. Hodgepodge of Fried Shrimp, Shrimp n’ grits and Crab Cakes
Monday: We had vegetables from the garden that were coming in. So, I grilled some chicken. We had Southern Style Green Beans (where you cook them/boil them to death all day with bacon) and some grilled yellow squash and zucchini squash.
Tuesday: Trader Joe’s Cabbage rolls with Black-Eyed Peas and Brown Rice
Wednesday: Leftover Chicken and veggies from Monday
Thursday: BBQ Ribs with roasted potatoes
Friday: Kitchen’s closed! Out to eat!
Saturday: We have Joey’s Dad’s birthday party. We are having finger foods and sandwiches. I am making Rotel Cheese dip and Homemade Ice Cream. 🙂
2. What I’m Reminiscing About:
This was from our gender reveal party 3 years ago. I can’t believe it’s been that long ago.
These were from Addison’s 6 month photo session and her 1st beach trip… 2 years ago!! Makes me so sad how fast time is flying by.
3. What I’m Loving:
I’m loving spending time at home with Addison this summer. We are loving playing outside and going to the pool. We love having play and lunch dates. I love all the time I get to spend with her being a teacher.
I also love my new sunscreenand hat! The sunscreen smells amazing and doesn’t have the bad chemicals in it. The hat is awesome because it doesn’t lose its shape like other hats I’ve had previously.
I’m planning a whole Amazon post about all the things I’ve been Priming lately. Get excited!!
I’m also loving this hair dryer! I mean it says it all in the name….One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer. #signmeup
My bestie, Caroline, had one and let me try it out. I have SO much hair!! It usually takes me like 45 minutes just to dry it with a round brush. This one had great reviews and free shipping with Amazon. So, I of course had to try it out. It has been great and super convenient. My hair dries faster and less frizzy.
4. What We’ve Been Up To:
Well, since coming home from vacay, I’ve been doing all the laundry. I can’t stand to have it pile up, so I usually just knock it out in one day. I bet I washed about 8 loads.
Joey has been an awesome farmer and grown lots of vegetables. So, my week is going to be spent washing, cutting up, canning, and freezing lots of vegetables. I’m planning to freeze squash and zucchini and can cucumbers for pickles. We also have a ton of pepprs, so I’ll be freezing those. We have about 10 watermelon on the vines that are still little right now, but we are excited about some sweet watermelon.
We went with my sister n’ laws and nieces to Monkey Joe’s this week to have the girls jump around and get some boredom out. We had a great time and the girls were worn out. The big girls were awesome helpers too. #winwin
5. What I’m Dreading:
I’m not really dreading anything right now. The only thing that is looming in the back of my mind is when July hits, summer is pretty much over. 🙁
I won’t think about that right now. #scarlett #tomorrowisanotherday
6. What I’m Working On:
I’m trying to work on a little bit of school preparation for next year. Just some Lesson Planning and Teacher Pay Teacher perusing.
I’m also working on planning some vacation trips. We are planning to go camping to Pigeon Forge in July and go to Dollywood. I am also looking for some places in Florida for our September break! Love going on family trips together! #makingmemories #betterthangifts
7. What I’m Excited About:
I Love, Love, Love the 4th of July!! I love the parades and the fireworks. I love cookouts and pool/lake time. It’s always so fun to get together and celebrate with family and friends. I love the festive red/white/blue attire! I know it’s hot as all get out in Georgia this time of year, but it’s great despite that.
Last year I felt like Addison was still too young to stay up for the fireworks. I feel like this year is her year! I can’t wait!!
8. What I’m Watching/Reading:
I haven’t been watching a whole lot of TV because I’ve been so busy, and I usually don’t like summer shows as good as winter shows. However, I usually do DVR and watch the Bachelorette and Southern Charm after Addison goes to bed or takes a nap…. #guiltypleasure
I mean I just can’t get enough of the juicy drama! Comment if you also watch or have another show you watch.
I am so over the Luke P drama on the Bachelorette. He’s giving GA a bad rep.
I’ve been reading some great books and not so great books. I’m planning a post about the books I’ve been reading this summer. I’ll clip some of them here now. Let me know if you love/hate these or have any other suggestions.
This is one of my favorite authors, and I can’t wait to start this one!
9. What I’m Listening To:
Currently, as I’m writing this blog, I’m listening to a Hallmark movie playing in the background. I like some background noise most of the time. I love Hallmark. #quality #feelgood
10. What I’m Wearing:
I’ve been wearing this shirt a lot lately. It’s so soft and comfy. It goes great with shorts and jeans! So, it’s been on repeat a lot.
I’ve also been wearing a lot of bathing suits lately because….beach. And I ordered these flip flops in the ballet rose color. They were perfect for wearing around the pool and on the beach.
11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:
This weekend, I hope we go eat somewhere yummy on Friday night. #kitchensclosed
On Saturday, during the day, we don’t currently have plans. It’s shocking because we are busy people. So, who knows what will go down during the day.
However, we have Joey’s Dad’s birthday party on Saturday evening. So, we will be eating some yummy sandwiches, finger foods, and homemade ice cream. We will be celebrating big!
Sunday, we may go visit the grandparents. It’s such a blessing to have them in our lives. We aren’t able to visit with them as much as we would like to, so Sunday may be our day to make the rounds. We will see….
12. What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month:
Addison is taking swim lessons next month, so I’m excited to see how that goes.
It’s my birthday month, so I love celebrating BIG! Ha!
The 4th of July is next month, and I already stated how much I love that Holiday… BBQ’s, family/friend time, and fireworks!
We are going on a trip next month, so I’m also excited about that!
13. What Else Is New:
Whew! I think that’s about it! 😉
That wraps up my What’s Up Wednesday! I’m off to the pool today!
