**Weekend Recap** {4.6.2020}

Happy Monday!! We had another beautiful weekend and definitely enjoyed spending lots of it outside. Before I get into our weekend recap, I definitely want to wish someone very special to us a Big Happy Birthday!! Today is my Mama, and Addison’s Nonna’s, Birthday!! We don’t know what we would do without her. She definitely helps us a lot, and she’s my best friend and shopping confidante. Nonna, we hope you have the best day!! You deserve it all!! 🙂

So, getting into our recap… Joey ended up taking off Friday. Before all this crazy Covid-19 started, we were supposed to be going to the beach, Destin. 🙁 Sadly, we had to cancel. This is, technically, my Spring Break. On Friday, he and my awesome brother n’ law and sister n’ law came over. Nathan helped Joey work in Addison’s play room. Autumn kept me and Addison company. It was great having adult conversations!! 🙂

That night I grilled out steaks, veggies and potatoes. We enjoyed the company. After we got ready for bed, we snuggled up on the couch for Onward!! We were super excited to watch it! #lovedisney+

Saturday morning, I got up and did some cleaning. Joey plowed and dug the rows in the garden. Addison and I went outside to enjoy the sunshine. She played in the rocks.

We planted some potatoes.

We did some sidewalk chalk art. 😉

My cousin Josh had a battery operated car that he’d been telling us to come get for Addison. So, we finally did… and Addison didn’t hate it. 😉

Addison and I made Nonna a birthday cake. It looks delicious, and we can’t wait to dig in. I used this recipe. I did end up increasing 1.5x the cake recipe. It appears to be a nice height.

I decided to cut up some strawberries to have them soak in some Moscato for a little Sangria type drink. It was very good! The strawberries were perfectly infused.

We called in Mexican, Saturday night. The queso was on point. I had been missing some chips/salsa/queso. It was a perfect accompany to my “Sangria”.

Afterwards, Joey made a fire, and we enjoyed making some smores. We do it up big around here. Haha!

Sunday morning, we took it easy. Joey made some breakfast which included pancakes. It was like Cracker Barrel around here.

We decided to ride over to a nearby park that is supposed to have some really cool hiking trails to a mine, James H. Floyd Park. We enjoyed a picnic on the tailgate of the truck then took off on the trail.

Addison complained pretty much 98% of the trip. She insisted on holding one of our hands the entire way. And she was not getting a pep in her step. Which was unusual for her.

She fell about 8 times and complained of being hungry, tired and thirsty most of the trip. What can I say, she is my child. #headslap

The family that wears yellow together…. stays together! 🙂

It was really cool.

Addison napped on the way back home. We would have liked to have nap when we got home, but when she’s awake, everyone’s awake. #nothappening

We had grilled chicken, baked beans, roasted potatoes, and fried okra for dinner.

I hope you all had a great weekend, making lots of memories, and staying safe. Much love to you all and thank you so much for reading!!

xoxo
