**Favorite Books Lately** 4/22/2020

I decided I would share some of my favorite books. I know during this current “situation” a lot of us have some extra time on our hands. So, I thought now would be the perfect time for this topic. I love to read. I don’t have a whole lot of time for it, but I love to read while Addison is napping or in the evenings right before bed.

These aren’t listed in any sort of order. Some of these I will be listing Favorite Authors and sharing many books by that author. I just couldn’t pick one favorite book. 😉

*************************************************************

I will start this off with one of the first books I remember reading as an adult, and it has stuck with me to this day. True Colors by Kristin Hannah. The quote from Amazon says it best, “True Colors is an unforgettable novel about sisters, rivalry, forgiveness, redemption—and ultimately, what it means to be a family.”

I love most books Kristin Hannah writes. One of my recent favorites is The Great Alone. It was very good, and I would definitely recommend it!

Here are some more awesome books by her… The Nightingale (So Good!!!), Night Road, and Winter Garden.

Onto another favorite book. So, last summer, I read Where the Crawdads Sing. It was Really good! Like, I read it in just a few weeks, which is great for me. I would definitely recommend this one.

Another book that I loved and couldn’t put down was Before we Were Yours. It was earth shattering. I’ve come to really love Historical fiction novels, and this one. It’s based on one of America’s most notorious real-life scandals. Read it! Trust me!

Lisa Wingate’s The Book of Lost Friends was also recommended. I may look into that as one of my next reads. 😉

Another book I recently read and LOVED was The Tattooist of Auschwitz. This was another novel that I flew through. I have been to Auschwitz in Germany. It was a very surreal and emotional experience. Then, after reading this novel, it really took me to that place. You guys need to read this one.

I really want to read Cilka’s Journey which is a character from the novel. I’m going to add it to my to read list. 😉

I read Redeeming Love a long time ago. And then I read it again a few years back. I would highly recommend this book to read. It’s a classic that everyone should read! 🙂

Another famous author of mine, that I love, is Elin Hilderbrand. The majority of her books are written in Nantucket. (which I’d love to visit one day) I met her a few years back, and it was so fun! It was really hard for me to pick out just one favorite, so I’m going to share a lot of my favorites.

The Island, The Perfect Couple, Here’s to Us, The Matchmaker, The Blue Bistro, The Rumor, The Castaways

Her newest novel, 28 Summers, comes out in June, and I can’t wait to read it!!

Another favorite author is a Georgia native, Mary Kay Andrews. I love how most of her novels take place in the low country or at the beach. They’re my favorites. I have read lots of her books too, but I can’t pick just one. She has a novel coming out next month called, Hello Summer, that I can’t wait to read. Her novels are usually humorous and sometimes have a perfect mix of mystery. They’re great!!

Lately, I’ve been continuing to read my books on my Kindle Paperwhite. It’s so lightweight, and it’s easy because I don’t have to take up space on my bookshelf once I’m done reading. It’s also easy because I can just throw it in my purse and have all my books with me. I used to pack like 4 books for our vacation. Now, I just bring my Kindle and I’m ready to go.

That’s it for this edition of Books Lately. If you have any books you think I should definitely read, please comment here!! I always love books that people have actually read and love. 😉

Thanks so much friends!
