**Friday Favorites** Joy Edition {8.14.2020}
Happy Friday!!!! We are down two weeks of teaching. It DEFINITELY looks different than a normal beginning of school year, but I’m loving seeing all my students that elected to come face-to-face.
Today, like usual, I’m linking up with the blogs AlittlebitofEverything and Momfessionals and sharing some of my favorite things from the week!!
So, I’m going to hop on my soap box here for a minute….. because a lot of you are asking about us starting back to school. Back in early July, our district sent all the parents a survey to complete. The survey allowed parent choice: send your child/children back to school face-to-face, elect to have them do digital teaching or withdraw them from school. They ALL had a CHOICE! The results were about 77% of parents elected to send their kiddos back to in person.
So, then the district went about assigning students to teachers. We have at least 1 digital teacher in each grade level that have been assigned as the digital teacher. Everyone else is teaching in person.
Since starting school, there have been some grumblings…. It’s to be expected, not everyone is going to be happy. I have tried to make it as “normal” as possible for my students. I’m on what we call the “Joy” club at school…. trying to sprinkle joy wherever possible. 😉
Last Friday, we ordered donuts and coffee for all the staff. We felt like everyone loved them, and it was definitely a favorite!
My sweet colleage, and parapro, brought me cookies one day this week, from my favorite little bakery. She is definitely a favorite! Who doesn’t love chocolate chip cookies!!!
A sweet grandparent, who happens to be my Aunt, brought these cute masks for all of her granddaughter’s teachers. It has been a favorite to wear this week. 😉
These deer coming by in the evenings have been a favorite. I will add, they were not a favorite when they were eating food from our garden.
This little cutie in a twirly dress is a favorite. I will note that she came home that day and had a big blob spaghetti stain on the front of it. I just have to laugh. She tried. Haha!
This little meme made me chuckle, and it describes Addison to a T. 😉
Anyone else have a picky eater? The struggle is real.
When Addison wakes in the morning and just throughout the day, her hair gets so tangled! It’s like a rat’s nest of knots. I ordered this conditioner spray from Amazon, and it’s been great! No more fighting her trying to get them all combed out and it smells great!
We had our first day of dance class for the new year this week! Addison was so excited!! These cute, little dancers are a favorite.
If you missed my post on Wednesday, I shared a little look at my work space/desk area. Check out some of my favorite desk items here.
I’ve ordered some things from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! They’re on the way to my mailbox as you read this. I can’t wait to share all my favorite things. This is the best sale ever because it gets me all prepared for Fall/Winter at great prices. It’s like a Pre-Season Sale.
In the spirit of my excitement and spreading joy… I’m doing a giveaway!!! One lucky reader will win a Nordstrom giftcard from me! I will be drawing a week from today, next Friday!! Make sure to do all the options on the Rafflecopter below to increase your chances to win! 🙂
There are so many awesome items for under $30 like these favorite undies or this perfect throw that comes in a plethora of great colors to match your home decor! #sosoft I’ll be sharing more items next week, so be sure to come back to check them out!
That’s it for this week. What do you guys have planned for your weekend?
Thank you so much for reading!! Now, go run and spread some joy. 🙂
xoxo

One of our local districts sent out a similar letter and so many parents opted to send their kids to school that the school had to scrap the plan they had outlined in the letter home.

Yes!! We try to listen to the parents. 🙂

Good Luck with school this year. I think in person attendance is the right thing to do. The kids need the personal attention from a teacher and spending time with their friends.
I place a big order at Nordstrom yesterday. Can’t wait to get my stuff.

Cute mask. I’ve never shopped at Nordstroms. I really can’t afford it & we don’t have 1 near us.

Thank you!! I always thought it was too expensive to, but there are things that I can afford. Plus, it lasts me for years because the quality is so much better than other places. The closest one to me is about an hour away. I just order online…it’s the best because free shipping and free returns. So, I don’t mind buying lots and seeing what I like and returning what I don’t. 🙂 Happy Monday!!

Loved spreading joy with you! ❤️ Love the MJ dress, even if it did get a spaghetti stain later.

Donuts and coffee are always a fun way to spread joy! I love that you have a joy committee at your school – what a beautiful example to set for others and especially for the students!

Thank you!! 🙂

Love the mask. If anyone had told us last year that we would be getting excited over face masks, we would have thought they were nuts! Ha!

Ha! I know!! I think of that all the time, how different EVERYTHING is! 🙂
