**Spring Break Vacation Recap** {4.20.2022}
Hey Hey Guys! I’m back! Today, I’m sharing all about our Spring Break trip from a few weeks ago.
We left out Wednesday mid-morning heading South with our fifth wheel camper. We were headed to Carrabelle RV Resort in Florida.Â
We arrived, got everything set up and headed to get some food by the water. It was nice, but it was windy sitting on the patio.Â
We headed back and sat by the fire, for a little while, before going to bed early. We were all tired. I did read some in my book though. I really loved this book! I will share more about it on a later post.Â
We were up fairly early the next morning. We cooked breakfast at camp and were eager to get ready and head to the beach!Â
These sponges are a lifesaver for putting on sunscreen around the face.Â
We made the short drive and over the bridge to St. George Island. We had a little “beach” area across the street from our campground, but it is just on the sound. I wanted to go to the regular beach, so we typically drove over the bridge to the big water of the Gulf.Â
The weather was beautiful! Since Addison had just got upgraded to a knee stabilizer, we thankfully, could take that off and on and not worry about sand and water getting all in that. #praise
Despite not being able to walk, she was still having the best time playing and scooting around. That water was freezing, so I told her I would not be joining her.Â
Joey went and got us an iced latte, so I was really living my best life! #dreamy
We stayed at the beach until about 3. We ran in a surf shop just because. But we had to head back a little early because our friends were doing a Shrimp Boil that night for dinner, and we were in charge of the dessert! I made my Homemade Chocolate Fudge Cake and Homemade Ice Cream! It all was delicious and really hit the spot! Addison had no complaints. 😉Â
On the second day, we headed back to the beach, and it was so windy. We were getting sandblasted and about to blow away. We didn’t end up staying too long. We just couldn’t take it.Â
It was unfortunate because some girls moseyed over to play with Addison.Â
We went to an early dinner at the “Red Pirate”, and Addison had to have a picture. Â
Me and my Brown Eyed Girl
On our last full day, we woke up to chilly weather and very windy conditions. We knew we weren’t going to be making it to lay out/play on the beach. Even just walking down to the sound was miserable. Addison was fine, but we were not.Â
We ended up walking to the neighboring food truck for some pork nachos for lunch that day. The little girl, working with her parents, gave Addison a cupcake while we waited. So very sweet. The food truck had a beautiful view and was a fun spot!Â
Finally after eating lunch, we let her get in the pool. I tried to lay out for a while. It was very chilly. Addison got cold pretty fast, so we ended up going back to the camper.Â
Joey and Addison took a nap. I enjoyed some alone time reading outside. I tried to let the camper block the wind. Ha!
That night, we got dressed and went to Apalachicola for dinner at Half Shell Dockside. They had a really neat wall outside the front door. We had to get a photo.Â
I got Grilled Grouper, Collards, and Cheese Grits. Joey got Grouper Tacos. It was all delicious!Â
We headed back towards the camp, and I snapped some pictures on the beach.
When we got back, Addison was ready for smores. I was freezing and huddled up by the fire. Addison just wanted all the chocolate and marshmallows. She was in heaven.Â
Since I forgot to get any pictures of our site, I snapped a few the next morning, right before we headed out. It was a great spot! We loved that you could look out the back window and see the water in the mornings, and I loved that it was all clean and all paved.Â
That’s it for our trip! We had an awesome time! If you’re looking for a quiet place to go on the Gulf, I would suggest this area around St. George Island, Cape San Blas, or Mexico Beach. It’s perfect for families!Â
See you guys back here on Friday!Â
