**What’s Up Wednesday** {6.29.2022}

I can’t believe it’s the  last Wednesday of the month! I’m linking up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer. I’m sharing what has been going on with us lately. It’s a little food, a little family, a little what we’re wearing, a little what we’re doing, a little what I’m watching and a little bit of everything else all in one post.

Grab your coffee, tea, lemonade or whatever you’re sipping on and settle in. 🙂

1. What We Are Eating This Week:

Well, this week looks a little different in the dinner department. We are eating lots of things from our garden because we have squash/zucchini coming in like crazy.

Sunday: We got home around 4 from the beach and were very busy unloading, unpacking and doing lots of laundry. We just had leftover pizza, from the beach, for dinner.

Monday: Grilled Fish, Baked Potato, Roasted Squash

Wednesday: Hibachi style Steak/Chicken, Fried Rice, Veggies

Thursday: Out to Eat to celebrate Autumn

Friday: Out to Eat to celebrate Joey’s Granny’s birthday

Saturday: We are “cooking out” for Joey’s Dad’s Birthday/Father’s Day. BBQ with sides, cake, and Homemade Ice Cream. I am making Hashbrown Casserole and Ice Cream

I also made Zucchini Muffins/Bread to help use some of our garden stash. This recipe is by far not keto/healthy, but it’s a recipe that has been passed down from my grandmother, and mom to me.

Ingredients:

3 eggs

2 c. sugar (I usually only do 1 1/2 cups)

1 c. veg. oil

2 c. grated zucchini

2 c. plain flour

1 tsp. salt

1 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients together. Line muffin pan with liners. Fill about 1/2 the liner. There’s still a lot left over after filling 12 muffins, so I just put the rest in a loaf pan. You could always just make more muffins.

The muffins only take about 25-30 minutes. The loaf pan takes about 1 hour.

2. What I’m Reminiscing About:

So many sweet memories popped up on my feed from our past beach vacations.

Look at this little chunky nugget from 5 years ago in 2017.

Here we are in 2018. She was really starting to become a beach loving girl.

Here’s some memories from the 4th of July with Adalynn, playing at Grandpa’s and a little fishing at the lake house.

Loving life in 2019. She was almost 3.

I didn’t really have many from 2020, but here’s one from last year. 2021.

3. What I’m Loving:

I’m still loving all my Colleen Rothschild products! Right now all products are 20% off with code: 4thsale

Radiant Cleansing Balm

Extreme Recovery Cream

4. What We’ve Been Up To:

We jumped right into our summer with a fun time at the aquatic center.

Addison had a week of swim lessons with Mrs. Debbie. We just love her!

We have had lots of cousin and friends play time.

We celebrated my Papa’s 92nd birthday earlier this month.

We had a great week of church.

Addison had her first trip to get a pedicure. I foresee lots of trips in our future. 😉

And, we had a great time on our beach vacation last week. I shared part one here.

5. What I’m Dreading:

I’m not really dreading anything right now. 😉

6. What I’m Working On:

I’m working on this blog post and trying to keep my child preoccupied.

I am also busy planning our upcoming trips.

7. What I’m Excited About:

I am really excited about all the fun things we have planned next month! I love the 4th of July and all the festivities!

We also have a short trip planned, so excited for that!

I’m also really excited about these two things happening next month!

8. What I’m Watching/Reading:

I am not really watching anything…. tell me something I need to watch! 🙂

I am in full summer reading mode. At the beginning of the month, I read Jodi Picoult’s newest novel, Wish You Were Here. I typically love her books, and I have deemed some of them at the top of my lists.

This one was interesting. It revolved around Covid. However, I didn’t want to read a book all about the pandemic, thankfully, it wasn’t. She definitely delivered. This book had a great story line and lots of twists and turns. I would definitely recommend this one!

I finished off the month with Mary Kay Andrews’, The Homewreckers. It was very cute and typical chick-lit, but I felt like it had a little more meat than most. It took place in Savannah/Tybee Island, which I loved. There was a little bit of romance, humor, mystery and even a murder. I had to keep reading to find out who did it! This one was cute, and I would definitely recommend!

9. What I’m Listening To:

Right now I’m listening to silence because Addison is napping, and it is glorious!

10. What I’m Wearing:

I have been wearing this cute top from Social Threads on repeat. I love the color especially for Summer and for the 4th! I love the way it fits! For size reference, I’m in a size Medium. The shirt sizes keep going in and out of stock! Fingers crossed that your size pops back up! Here I am in the white shorts from Aerie. They are on sale right now, so go grab them!

THML Red Top / Aerie White Shorts

I am keeping my fingers crossed that this beauty of a dress will be restocked from Social Threads. The material and fit is so beautiful and flattering.

I have been wearing this double ruffle cotton blouse on repeat. It’s made by one of my favorite brands, so of course, I love it! It comes in lots of colors, but I grabbed the classic white.

Ruffle Flounce Sleeve Cotton Blouse

I wore the heck out of this Coverup Shirt dress from Target last week while at the beach. It’s so soft and very stylish! I can even pair it with shorts, button it up, and I’m good to go! This bathing suit was so super comfortable. I was able to run around and chase Addison at the beach, and I didn’t feel like I was going to lose anything. That is never good.

I also wore this pink one shoulder strap bathing suit at the beach. I got lots of compliments, and it was very comfortable too! The picture isn’t the best. The wind had the ruffle turned over.

11. What I’m Doing This Weekend:

We have a lot of birthdays/celebrations this weekend. We will also be celebrating the 4th!!

12. What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month:

Next month, I am excited about our little getaway trip and having more summer fun!

13. Favorite Amazon Find:

Living where we do plus this time of the year, this little diamond has been working on overload. Anytime I’m outside, Addison and I get eaten alive, so as long as I remember to turn this on, we are good to go!

Thermacell Mosquito Repellant

14. What Else Is New:

This Veet Hair Removal Cream has become my new best friend! My hair dresser and I were chatting, like gals at the beauty salon do. 😉 She told me one of her clients, an OBGYN, told her about this amazing hair removal cream. Naturally, I had to purchase it to try it out. It is definitely worth the hype and works! I would recommend leaving it on for about 10 minutes before trying to remove. It comes in a 2 pack, so you’re good to go for a while!

Thank you all for reading. I am so thankful for all of you! I hope you have an awesome day!! See you back here on Friday!

Oh that campground looks amazing. We took Joey to Yogi Bear’s Jellystone in Cherokee NC last month and rented a small cabin since we sold our Camper before we moved! LOVED it. I highly reccomend going there. Leaving this week for Isle of Palms/Charleston for a week on the beach. Can’t wait! I also want to read the books you recommeded. I just finished 28 Summers Elin Hilderbrand. Great Book. Trying to decide which book to take with me. Heat Wave…. Nancy Thayer or People we meet on Vacation…..Emily Henry.
I will probably take both…..Never too many 😘
