**Saint Lucia Vacay Recap Part I** {10.19.2022}

Today is finally the day I am going to share our vacation with you. It’s been a crazy few weeks since our trip. I always love traveling and especially places I’ve never been!

We started planning this trip about a year ago, and we used a travel agent. We went to celebrate our 10 year anniversary.

We were up early Saturday morning and heading to the airport. Thankfully, we only live about an hour away from the Atlanta airport, so we were able to get a direct flight to Saint Lucia. Most people have to come to Atlanta or go through Miami.

Here we are all excited and ready to get our trip started!

All situated on the plane. I always want a window seat because I feel like I’m not as claustrophobic, and I like to see out. However, this was a 5 hour flight, and my bladder didn’t want to cooperate. I had to get up 3 times. I know the person on the aisle was probably getting annoyed with me. Thankfully it was a lady, so she seemed understanding.

We had a little bit of turbulence because we had to pass over Hurricane Fiona. It was very cloudy and rainy when we arrived. We had planned to take the water ferry to the resort, but it was cancelled due to the choppy water and nearby storm. So, we took the bus to the resort. It was about an hour and a half drive up and down the mountains and on curvy roads. It was neat seeing the country.

When we arrived, we got settled into our room and waited a few minutes for our luggage to be brought up. I only snapped one picture of our room before we headed out to do some exploring around the resort.

We ended up choosing to stay at Sandals Grande Resort on St. Lucia. There are three resorts, but this one had the best reviews. We heard the beach, entertainment, and food were all best at this resort, so that helped seal the deal.

Only certain restaurants are open during certain hours and days. By the time we finally got settled in, we were starving. Airplane snacks didn’t fulfill our hunger. The only restaurant open was the Pub. The atmosphere was cute, but we weren’t huge fans of our food choices.

Saturday night there was supposed to be a Beach Party, however, a storm came through and that was cancelled. That’s okay, we were exhausted after a long travel day, so we were ready for bed early.

The next morning, we were rested and ready for the day. I have a beautiful view, my toes in the sand and a fruity drink in my hand. I sure do love my ring from Amazon.

That night, we had dinner at the Italian restaurant. It was delicious! Much better than the pub. We got the risotto for an appetizer. Then, I ordered the Chicken Alfredo and Joey got the Lasagna.

The entertainment for the evening was reggae. I didn’t snag any pictures.

After the show, we enjoyed our Anniversary cake in the room.

Monday morning, we were up early, and enjoying the beautiful weather.

It was another day of enjoying the sights and reading on my Kindle. I think at this point of the week I was reading One Italian Summer, and it was so good! Perfect for the setting.

We took a break to go get pizza for lunch. It was delicious!

I headed to the quiet pool and Joey headed to the gym for a while. Another shot of my ring from Amazon.

That evening we got cleaned up and headed to eat at Barefoot on the Beach. It was a great meal right on the beach.

That evening was the fire & water show. It was very entertaining, but I kept commenting about being so worried about the performers. The air smelled so strongly of gasoline, and I was so worried about these men putting on the show and engulfing all this fuel.

I’m going to end this post here. I’m going to try to push through and do the second post for tomorrow, Thursday! I know this is crazy because I never post on a Thursday, but I’m trying to get my recap done. I’ll see ya’ll tomorrow!

What a fun trip!! So glad you guys could do this for your 10-year! It looks like you chose a great place to stay. I am LOVING your Amazon ring!!!! Do you think you will wear it often or will you put it away now that you are home? It just glimmers from the pictures you shared. 🙂

Thank you!! Honestly, it looks so much like my ring, I probably won’t wear it on a daily basis. However, on trips, water/amusement parks, or vacations, I will probably wear it. It does shine and sparkle a lot!
