**Spring Break Recap ~ The Outer Banks** Part II {5.3.2023}
Happy Happy Wednesday Friends!! Today I’m sharing the second part of our Spring Break vacation. I’m finally getting to it. 😉 Settle in because I’m planning to finish it all in this post. If you missed Part I, check it out here.
Monday morning we were awake to chilly but sunny weather. This day we had plans to go north up the coast to Corolla to see the wild horses.
We left about 11 to head that way. We stopped by a few shops in the cute little town of Duck, NC, on the way up.
We used Corolla Jeep Tours, and we were very pleased with everything. We had dressed semi warmly but were super thankful they provided parkas for us to use. We are so thankful we chose the 12:30 ride time and not the 10:30 tour.
Getting ready for the wild and bumpy ride. We did not know what we were about to get into. Hahaha!
We started on the road, and the air went into our hoods. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. #coneheads I was dying.
The highway just eventually changed into the beach. The beach was still the highway. It required 4 wheel drive. It was crazy. We saw all kinds of vehicles from tractor trailers to smaller suvs. We were in a hummer.
Then we finally found some horses!
We headed over the dunes. They were huge! We saw the local fire station.
All of this rocking put Addison to sleep. She was out!
And, we saw a really old Coast Guard station.
Our driver was awesome and took us to this beautiful, huge sand dune. It was so remote.
And then we were done. We were like frozen popsicles.
We had to take some pictures by the #OBX sign!
We decided we would stop back in Duck and walk around some shops.
My maternal grandmother was my best friend and so special to me. Her name was June. So, when I saw this store named Allie June, I knew I had to snap a picture. <3
Like everywhere else, unfortunately, a lot of the stores were still closed.
We originally wanted to eat at Coastal Cravings in Duck. We had looked at the menu and decided it looked amazing, and it was open. However, when we arrived, there was a sign on the door that they were closing early. We were literally heartbroken.
So, we asked around and someone suggested NC Coast Grill & Bar. We ended up going and sat on the deck. We had a nice time but probably wouldn’t go back. The food was very good though.
And we found the Big Red Chair to take an infamous picture.
We noticed that Kill Devil Hills had a brand new Target just open. It was insane how many people flocked to check it out. On the way back to the condo, I guess we felt like we needed to join in the fun, so we stopped by too. Haha!
On Tuesday, it was sunny but it was chilly and very windy. We tried to brave the beach for a little while.
Addison of course, didn’t care and even met some friends to play with.
We couldn’t hang for more than an hour. We were all wrapped up and freezing. We finally talked Addison into going to the indoor pool.
Our condo was right across the street from the Wright’s Brother’s monument and museum. We didn’t end up going. Mostly because it was so cold, but I did snap some pictures from our balcony.
That night we went to dinner at Jolly Roger Restaurant. It was so fun!
They had live music, and the drinks were so good!
Aunt Dot thoroughly enjoyed the drinks. Haha!
Addison did not feel like taking a picture with us. 😉
The whole atmosphere and decorations was so fun!
We even played some Music trivia!
My meal and everyone’s meal was amazing!
Jennifer bought Addison a gift she found in the gift shop. It was like one of those “games” we used to have when we were little where you try to get the rings on the post.
We would give the Jolly Roger 5 stars!
Then, Addison talked us into getting ice cream on our last night in the Outer Banks.
We packed up Wednesday morning and decided to head somewhere warm to stay for the night.
We stopped for breakfast at Bobs, before leaving the islands. The atmosphere and waitress were so fun and she made us laugh so much! Bobs was for sure an experience.
We landed in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and the weather was gorgeous! We stayed at the Marriott, and it was so nice and welcoming! Thankfully they had one room with a balcony still available.
We didn’t care too much because we planned on staying at the pool and beach the whole day.
I stayed in this position most of the day.
The Bodyguard was so cute and such a fun little beach read!
And, I took my favorite beach straw bag to keep all our sunscreen and things in since we were only there for one day.
Addison was for sure living her best life! And heck, so was I! Haha!
She was doing all the tricks. “Mom watch this” Ya’ll know how it is.
Then we did decide to actually get up and stroll to the beach. It was such a beautiful evening. We were wondering why we hadn’t just come here the whole time. Bahaha!
We did enjoy Outer Banks. It was just cold.
A little fun and laughter.
We didn’t want to have to get ready to go somewhere for dinner. Luckily our hotel had restaurants on site, and we didn’t have to. The views were awesome!
They had this really cool sand castle sculpture completed by a local artist. It was so detailed.
Unfortunately, Thursday morning, we had to pack up and officially head back home. We were all a little sad but knew all great things come to an end.
What a fabulous trip we had! My mom took this picture and said it was the best cargo.
Thank you all for stopping by and checking out our trip! I hope you enjoyed and got some tips! I will see you back here on Friday!

That’s too bad that the weather didn’t cooperate with you much during spring break; it does look like you made the most of it though. We’ve been to Myrtle beach a few times but never the Outer Banks.
