**Hello Monday** {7.31.2023}

Happy Monday!!! We had a great last official weekend of the school year before the kiddos start back on Wednesday!

Today, I’m linking up with Holly and Sarah for Hello Monday and sharing a recap of our weekend.

Friday, we had Open House at our school. I had to snap some pictures with my teacher friends! I couldn’t do it without them.

And one with my sweet sister n’ law, Cindy.

Joey brought Addison, and I was able to walk her around and meet her teacher. She was a little shy, but she said she is excited!

She’s ready for 1st grade!!

Right after school, I had a doctor’s appointment. Once I got home, I threw some things in a bag, and we headed toward my aunt and uncle’s lake house in Alabama. It’s only about an hour and half from home.

We arrived, threw our things in a room, and headed outside.

We went on an evening boat ride. The weather was beautiful!

Saturday morning, Joey got up early and went for a run. Aunt Dot and I cooked breakfast, and we went on a morning walk.

Then, we all headed down to the dock. It was starting to get hot and very humid.

At first, we just tied the tube to the dock, and they lounged on it a bit.

The jet ski needed some gas, so we drove the golf cart to get some gas. 🙂

Addison was ready to go for a ride.

Her and I rode on the tube, behind the jet ski, but of course, Joey didn’t snap any pictures of that. He failed. Haha!

We walked next door to the trampoline and she jumped for a bit.

We took a break and headed up for some lunch. Aunt Dot had these black bean chips. Have you had them before? They were so good!

After lunch, it was time for Joey and Addison to ride on the tube. They were cracking me up! Aunt Dot pulled them, and she was slinging them all over.

We played for a little while longer, floating in the water and just swimming around. It was so hot and steamy!

We went up to the house around 5 and started cooking. We had BBQ ribs, baked potato and salad for dinner. It was all so delicious!

After we got everything cleaned up, we headed out for another boat ride. We wanted to see the sunset.

There was a pretty sailboat on the lake.

Then, we got in position for the sun to set. It doesn’t take long. Once it gets close, it was gone in like 5 minutes.

We got back to the house, and it was still hot. We were going to do a fire and smores, but it was way too hot for that. So, I just melted them in the microwave.

We were all worn out from the heat, sun and water all day. So, we were all in the bed not long after 10.

The next morning, Aunt Dot and I were trying to beat the heat, and we headed next door to the garden to get some vegetables to take home.

Mr. Jimmy always has a beautiful garden, and it’s amazing that they start the plants in this greenhouse and then transplant them to the ground. We got so much!!

We ended up with 6 5-gallon buckets of tomatoes. Three bags of okra, and lots of peppers.

We got back to the house, cooked up some breakfast, and re packed our bags. We sat on the back deck for a little bit. It was a beautiful morning. Addison did one last swing on the hammock.

We got home a little after lunch. I started on laundry and preparing for the week.

Penny took Addison and Adalynn to get their toes and nails done for school.

We have one more day of pre-planning then the kids all start on Tuesday!

I wanted to let you know that the Colleen Rothschild Christmas in July sale is still going on! This is the time I stock up!! Code: 25JULY

The Loft has some cute items right now! Check everything out here

And, Jules & James just got in their new Fall YMI’s. If you’ve never tried these pants on, you should! I have them in about 8 different colors. They’re so comfortable and stretchy. You can wear them dressy or casual. They have sold millions of pairs! Just go check them out, and you’ll be amazed! The colors are all beautiful!

That’s it for our weekend! Since I was so backward last week, I am sharing my What’s up Wednesday this week! Ya’ll just go with it! 😉 Have a fabulous day!

Swooning over those vegetables! Wow, that garden is impressive. Also the lake house looks like such a neat place- I can see how you’d love to go there. I’ll bet it was hot! It was hot here and we’re a decent bit north of Alabama. Good luck getting ready for school!

I love that you guys still have open houses; our schools don’t do that anymore up here and it’s so stressful whenever kids have to start at a new school. Your time at the lake looks so lovely and relaxing.
