**Christmas 2023 Recap** {1.10.2024}

Today is a long post, but I’m sharing all about our Christmas events and gatherings.

I had to work all the way until Friday, December 22nd. It was a teacher workday and thankfully, we were able to leave right around lunchtime.

There was a cute, little Christmas German Market setup in our town. So, we met up with Whitley’s family and had a great time. It was so much fun and lots of things for the kids to do too! Santa was there also! It was a great hit!

Unfortunately, a lot of sickness hit some of our family this year, and we didn’t get to celebrate together. We were sad to not be able to get together with Joey’s Dad or have his Granny’s Christmas. They were both cancelled due to people being sick.

Saturday, we had Joeys Mom’s Christmas. I made this Hot Cocoa cake, and it was a hit! The credit goes to Holly! Thanks for sharing! Everyone loved it!

The girls were so excited and very festive in their flare pants.

We were sad Nathan and Autumn couldn’t join us. They were sick also. 🙁

We had lots of laughs and played lots of games.

Sunday morning, we were up and ready for Church.

We had a nice service, and once we returned home, I started making things for my Papa’s Christmas gathering that night (Christmas Eve). While I cooked and did some things, I had my simmer pot going. It smelled delicious!

Addison was ready to shine in her sparkly flared pants.

We gave my Papa and Jojo a money tree. He was so excited! 🙂

We love our Papa, and I love that he’s still with us to celebrate. We are very fortunate.

Once people starting clearing out, and the ladies started cleaning up. Addison was having fun playing snowball with Dad. It was cracking us up.

We had to get home to get ready for Santa to arrive. She opened one present, her Christmas Eve gift a book.

And then, Santa came! She was so excited!

She got her Rubik’s Cube and Fidget Spinners. Along with a Sleeping Bag, a Bitzee Virtual pet, Ugg Ultra Mini boots

We invited the Grandparent’s over for breakfast, and we enjoyed some time with them.

Joey’s Dad ended up bringing her Christmas presents, so she was excited to dig into those. Emma played Jenga with her.

After everyone left, we did our presents. She found out that we were going snow tubing , the next day. We had to feverishly start packing.

Christmas night, we had Mom and Dad’s Christmas. Joey was able to get a quick nap. I was not.

A quick pic of us before leaving to head up to Dad & Mom’s house.

She made a delicious meal of Prime Rib roast with baked potatoes and brussels sprouts. It was great!

Then, Addison was extra eager to dig into the presents. Not like she hasn’t gotten plenty.

Marble run set, Fort Building Kit

Once we were home, we unloaded everything, and it was still a mess. However, we were leaving the next morning to head North to Boone, NC, so no time to clean up too much.

While I read for a few, Joey borrowed my Nod Pod . Haha! I have definitely been enjoying wearing it at night.

That is all for our Christmas gatherings. I will share our trip to North Carolina in another blog post. Thanks for popping in! See you Friday.
